My understanding is that for these beta tests there are 2 versions of each test.
one with an xx and one with an xy in the test #. I believe you are allowed to take each one time . If you manage to pass them both you will only get the credit once.
I was not feeling comfortable with the poli sci test I took( the xx version) in early Aug so I have signed up to take the xy version next Saturday. The first time around I did not study at all, this time I will.
I am also using this as an experiment to see the difference in scores I get from each scenario. I just hope I pass at least one of them, as 3 free credits would be cool.
BTW, which test are you looking to take over ?

If you originally took the xy version and you want a second chance at the test then your only option for the retake is the xx version.
Since these tests are in the beta stage I think there is no way to tell which is the better version to take the first time.
Best thing to do ( in my opinion ) is to try to study the stuff in the Uexcel content outline found in the study guide on their website. Also try your hand at the sample question and review the rationales for the sample questions also found in the study guide.

Based on my personal experience, there are not much differences between xx and xy version. looks like the test-makers didnt really bother, they just put the same questions in different orders or for Calculus and physics slightly changed some numbers but if you feel you failed one version, if you go back in cold you definitely gonna fail the other one as well because they are almost identical so prepare your self and study for your second shot !

Ali4Nia,
Thanks for letting us know that the content in both versions of these beta exams are pretty much identical.
This will help me in regards to my studying the correct materials. I am indeed studying this time around.

A follow-up to my previous posting:
I took the yx version of the Uexcel political sci yesterday and I did not find it to be the same as the xx version, at most maybe 5% of it was in the other version.
In fact even after studying I found this version harder then the one I took first(the xx version). So if you think you did not do well and plan on taking it over, please do study all the topics in the content guide, as you only get one second chance.
Time will tell if I passed one , both or none.
Also since I read the warning at the beginning of the exam ( the part everyone agrees to in order to take the exam) about not sharing specifics on the contents and questions, etc. I think it best to not give specifics in this post.
