I'm not sure if this has been put out there yet or not, but my advisor at Excelsior College told me today Excelsior has just updated DSST tests it accepts as upper level units. The three tests they updated to upper level credits are DSST Ethics in America, DSST World Religions, and Intro Criminal Justice. So for those of us attending Excelsior, we now have three more DSST tests for upper level credits.
There is nothing in print yet, but for you skeptics out there, my advisor added DSST Ethics in America to my degree completion plan as 3 units of upper division.
Applied Professional Credits or Additional Arts & Sciences
6.00 semester hours upper level in any academic area
* DSST: Ethics in America
* DSST: Rise and Fall of the Soviet Union
I hope this helps you on your educational journey.

That's great news for current and prospective EC students. Intro to CJ is universally seen as a lower level course.

Wow! This is BIG news! Thanks for sharing it!
Has anyone else been able to confirm this change? I wonder if they are following the ACE recommendations now. What about Here's to Your Health?

I wonder if TESC will add more upper level too. I really don't want to have to take a course.

As far as I know, ACE recommends 12 DSST exams as upper-level, including Here's to Your Health. Previously EC was giving UL credit for 8. Now the original post adds 3 more. If this is true, only HTYH is unknown.
Overall, this could be really good news because all UL credit for Liberal Arts degrees except the capstone could be earned through DSST and ALEKS.

Oh man if HTYH is going to be upper level now, thats practically gifting UL credits.
I know some have struggled with it, but it was the overall easiest exam I had by a mile (thanks to instantcert & the forum). The computer knowledge tests were easy the CLEP, DSST, and MIS DSST but that's my line of work.

TESC accepts 12 DSSTs as UL. Possibly 6 of those would apply to a social science degree. Organizational Behavior is considered a business course and a psychology course. Introduction to World Religions would probably be accepted too because the social science page says that humanities courses apply too if they're related to the social sciences.

Great News Everybody!
I just received confirmation from an advisor that these 4 DSST exams are upper-level at Excelsior:
Criminal Justice
Ethics in America
World Religion
Hereâs to Your Health
That change combined with the lower cost of some ECE and TECEP exams means more excellent options for many of us taking credit-by-exam!
