Hello all! I've been a lurker on here for some months now. I only wish I'd known about the Big3 sooner, I found out shortly after finishing my MBA at WGU. Of course, it makes it tempting to go for additional degrees now... but for the present I'm turning my daughters highschool homeschool into an accelerated high school / college hybrid with this info.
You guys have been immensely helpful to me in that, so I wanted to share some of that in something I just discovered last week. (I did search the forums ahead of time, and I didn't notice anyone posting this, but if they did I apologize.)
I wanted to let you guys know about a new source of credit. You've probably all been familiar with education-portal.com for years, then it went paid and a lot of people probably started to ignore it because there were free (or cheaper) study sources out there. I was familiar with them before from the homeschooling resources perspective.
Well, they just did a big change this month and rolled out a name change (now Study.com) and 19 new ACE backed credit offerings.
It's still subscription based, but it's unlimited access to all the courses with the monthly.
The new ACE credits are listed on the first section of this page - How to Earn College Credit from Our Courses - Study.com (scroll down until you see the first blue section that says ACE Recommended courses)
The parent company is Remillon, and that is how they are listed at ACE. Here's that link in case you want to see how they convert - ACE CREDIT | The National Guide to College Credit for Workforce Training
There are some good courses in the list, one surprise I found in there was that Science 101 : Intro to Natural Science converts to undergrad Physics credit according to the ACE listing -- which is a slightly harder course to find available for credit.
Anyway, hope this was a help, and thanks for having such a great community here
