Well, I have a quick question about DSSt exams I have read that anybody can take a DSST exam but some information looks like it is only for military or previous military personnel. Can I take the DSST exams?
CLEP
College Mathmatics- 68

Anyone can take DSST tests. They are run by Prometric.
DSST = DANTES Subject Standardized Tests
DANTES = Defense Activity for Non-Traditional Education Support
It started as a DoD way for military members to get college credit while stationed away from Continental US. But has been available to everyone for quite a while.
Not sure if this is true still or not, more knowledgeable on here will correct me if I am wrong. But while CLEP tests tend to count towards lower level credits, DSST can apply to either Lower or Upper level depending on the test.

I have a feeling that part of the confusion is coming from many people's misconception that DSST & DANTES mean the same thing. As was previously posted, the DSST exams were started/designed by DANTES. If you call a test center and ask about "DANTES exams", the person might assume you are asking about the DANTES "funded" exams -- the phrase used when a military candidate is calling about DSST exams. Make sure you only use "DSST" (not DANTES) and you should be fine.
