For those of you who have previously or are currently pursuing a bachelors through ETAMU (formerly TAMUC), how long did it take for your academic advisor to assign you a third course after completing the first two (having sent the completion emails and the request email to accelerate into the next course)?


Years ago you were able to be assigned two classes at a time and you continued with two at a time so that if you were waiting on a professor to grade something you were able to work on another course. Now it's two at the beginning but once those first two are complete you are only able to be assigned one course and you must wait on the advisor to verify the completion emails and then assign you the next course.  This new method of only having one course and then being down for 3-4 days due to it being a weekend is less than efficient.  Another change noted is that years ago you could accelerate into a new course up until the Friday of the 6th week.  Now you must complete all assignments/projects by the Wednesday of the 5th week so that things are hopefully graded by Friday morning of the 5th week for a new class to be assigned that day.  

off the soapbox now.  What has your experience been when accelerating into a new course.

I've been on this forum since 2022, but signed up in 2024 after deciding to bite the bullet on school and I gotta say that I appreciate everyone of y'all. I started with literally nothing, no scholarships, 12 credits from AP classes from highschool back in 2013. Thanks to a lot of resources this website has for alternative credits, I ended up gaining a ton of credits thru CLEP and other alt sources. Now have Associates, 2 Bachelors, and just finished my grad cert. :'). 

Would've never thought life and take such a quick turn, Saved me a crapton of money. Also now that 1/3rd of of finishing my masters, i got approved for a $5k grad scholarship through my state school. I seriously cannot be thankful enough for you all.

According to one of the co-founders, Josh Stanley, "We're hoping to launch masters degree in the near future. We actually think our model is suited more for graduate work than undergrad because of the self pace, learning and professor student interaction. We have much larger plans for degree offerings in the future. Stay tuned."

Is adding more teams a good thing?  Ireland would have likely made the cut in 2026 if there had been 64 teams.

Hi all!

I received my AAS from Pierpont and am now ready to continue the journey to a Bachelor's and I've been eyeing the BA in Psychology from UMPI. I'm not sure what the next step should be -- should I take some courses from Study.com before applying? I'm not exactly sure what would be accepted towards the BA and what would still be outstanding. 

I also want to apply for financial aid but need to make sure I do all of this on the right timeline. I found this Degree Plan but not sure if it's up to date. If it is, it looks like I'd have to take most of the upper level credit at UMPI.

My wife is a certified teacher from the Philippines and is also certified in the US. She was only one class away from finishing her Master's degree when her immigration paperwork was processed. Unfortunately, because it has now been more than five years, her university in the Philippines requires her to start the program completely over if she wants to finish it there.
We had her credentials evaluated in 2023frpm SpanTran, and her official report states:

• Undergraduate: Bachelor’s degree in elementary education (with a concentration in mathematics).
  
• Graduate: Completion of 36 semester credit hours of graduate study in educational administration (evaluated as equivalent to a regionally-accredited US institution).
  

Hi everyone,
I recently applied to Thomas Edison State University for the Bachelor of Arts in Computer Science program. My admission is currently in progress, and I have already completed my application and identity verification. I'm now waiting for my official academic evaluation and advisor.
While waiting, I wanted to prepare as much as possible so I can graduate as quickly as possible once everything is finalized.
Based on the current TESU catalog, DegreeForum wiki, Study.com transfer guide, and information from TESU, I created my own Area of Study (AOS) degree map, which I've attached.
My current understanding is:

• Area of Study: 45 credits
  
• Upper-Level Requirement: 18 UL credits
  
• TESU Residency: 15 credits through Accelerated (AC) courses
  
• Additional 15 Regionally Accredited (RA) credits: Planned through TECEP exams
  
• Remaining credits will be completed through transfer providers such as Study.com and UPI.
  

1. Whether my Area of Study is mapped correctly.
   
2. Whether my planned 18 upper-level credits make sense.
   
3. Whether the courses I've chosen for the Computer Science electives are appropriate.
