  Taking Math Courses at TESU
Posted by: legenwait4itdary - 02-01-2024, 06:26 PM - Forum: TESU - Thomas Edison State University Discussion - Replies (5)

Hello everyone,

I'm currently planning my coursework with TESU and there are 4 math courses I need to take. Unfortunately, taking them all in one semester isn't really an option for me right now due to various personal and professional commitments. However, I'm keen to start and wish to enroll in at least one of them soon. The courses are:

MAT-3010 History of Math
MAT-3510 Mathematical Modeling
MAT-3610 College Geometry
MAT-4010 Mathematical Logic

Given my situation, which includes other commitments (though nothing too demanding), I'm looking for the course that is relatively 'easier' or requires a less intensive commitment compared to the others. Your insights, experiences, or any advice regarding these courses would be incredibly valuable.

Additionally, IF my circumstances were to change and it became possible to take all four courses in one semester, do you think it would be manageable? What kind of weekly hour commitment would I be looking at for such a load?

I'm seeking your advice or personal experiences regarding these courses, their workload, content difficulty, etc. Any recommendations on managing such a semester would also be greatly appreciated.

Thank you in advance for your help!

  Please Help
Posted by: iamspecial - 01-31-2024, 08:57 PM - Forum: EU - Excelsior University Discussion - Replies (2)

Hi Everyone!

I've been reading this site for about a year and finally took the plunge!
I got my MAP planner (transcript evaluation) back from Excelsior and these are the classes that I still need to complete the business core after transferring in 50 credits from community college and military.
I am going for a Bachelors Business degree with a HR concentration.

My question is: If I'm reading study.com equivalency correctly, can everything below be completed there besides the cornerstone and capstone?
I've also read that I will need to use coopersmith for the business writing and business data analysis portion, thoughts?
I have listed the course I need from excelsior and what I think will satisfy it from Study.com in parenthesis.
Just wanted a second pair of eyes before moving forward. Thanks in advance!!!

Courses Needed:
Cornerstone (Excelsior)
Eng 202: Business Writing (Coopersmith)
Ethics (Study.com Business 318- Management Ethics)

Microeconomics (Study.com Economics 101- Principles of Microeconomics)
Business Data Analysis (Coopersmith)
Information Literacy 1 credit  (unsure what this is)

  Master's in Mathematics?
Posted by: Chankosumo - 01-31-2024, 11:59 AM - Forum: Graduate School Discussion - Replies (24)

Hello!
I was wondering if you could assist me with finding a online master's in Math? Are you aware of any program under $10000? If you know any, please let me know even if it's only with a NA accreditation. I could consider international programs too.
So far, the closest program I could find is M.S. in Mathematics from Northwest Missouri State University

Thanks!

GUATEMALA PhD's by Thesis for ~ USD $14,000; Philosophy, many fields.
Posted by: MFG - 01-31-2024, 10:57 AM - Forum: Doctorate Degree Discussion - Replies (1)

UFM Universidad Francisco Marroquin is a well-established brick-and-mortar private university in Guatemala, a country about the size and population of Florida, Central America. It now offers full online and by-thesis programs in English as well.

It was founded by Libertarian fans some decades ago to provide a strong polytechnic/economics school with readings in Libertarian-based or -interest authors in every field. It then expanded into other areas.

They also wanted to provide a UNISA-type model for bringing low-cost/free degrees to people of modest means across Latin America and in due course the world.

It is fully accredited.

The PhD Philosophy by-thesis OR by 3 learned published papers OR PhD in other fields:
https://doctorado.ufm.edu/

Cost is USD $14,000 most payable monthly over 3 years.
The guidelines for PhD's are refreshingly clear:
https://doctorado.ufm.edu/en/wp-content/...oct.22.pdf

Other programs, including in Madrid and Panama are here--many are online:
https://www.ufm.edu/estudios/

Master's degree online or mixed seem to cluster around USD $10,000 to $13,000. There is a scholarship program and payment plan.

ASNSM in Computer Science and TEEX Cybersecurity?
Posted by: Shorn27 - 01-31-2024, 02:10 AM - Forum: TESU - Thomas Edison State University Discussion - Replies (2)

Hey guys! Was floating around on the forum years ago when I started my degree, took a break but now I'm ready to complete it.

I'm aiming for BALS (done nearly everything, just need some free electives and then the capstone),

On the side I'm trying to meet the requirements for the ASNSM in Computer Science (Catalog 2021) and need just 16 credits in CS electives to comlplete it. I only have

COS-101 - Introduction to Computers
CIS-107 - Computer Concepts and Applications

I need just 10 more credits and I was looking  at the free TEEX cybersecurity, has anybody had luck with those? I've read many conflicting things on the forum

Question Cheapest online master's degree in *anything?*
Posted by: profstudent - 01-30-2024, 09:30 PM - Forum: Graduate School Discussion - Replies (34)

I finished a bachelor's degree at Excelsior University. I eked by, very unhappy with them. The classes I took felt like mind-numbing busy work with a bunch of pointless discussion forums, they goofed my financial aid, they bumped my degree conferral date, and they were just painful to get any helpful info from. So, I don't want to go there for an MA.

But, I do want a master.s In literally anything. Master's in Arts, Master's in Science...

My literal only requirement is that it be accredited... ideally regionally.

MBA, Master's in Marketing, Master's in Organizational Leadership, or Master's in Public Relations, or anything.

I've been Googling "master's degrees online under $10,000" but haven't found many good options. I don't even care if it's 20K if they allow federal financial aid (federal grad student loans) if it's a master's in something that would boost my career. I'm on the edge of entry-level and mid-career. I eventually want to be an online professor or online TA/grader for some bottom-tier online university (APUS?), so I need *some* master's degree. I don't want to take the GRE or GMAT and have a 3+ GPA (and come with 12 graduate credits with a 3.5+ graduate GPA already). I'm wanting a 1-2 year program, no internships/externships, or that non-sense. I prefer it to have a practical project, not a thesis, but can deal with a thesis if I'm attending literally any college other than Excelsior.

My current contenders in Master's in Marketing/Comm/PR are:
- Wichita State University, approx $9K
- Arkansas State University, approx $11K
- California Coast University, approx $11K

Any advice for me? Any good marketing/PR/comm/journalism programs I'm missing? Anything just crazy cheap? A master's in underwater basketweaving for <$10K is one I would consider... so long as it's not at Excelsior. I have had University of the People's MBA in consideration at about $5K, but they're not regionally accredited.

Hey guys,

I was wondering if anyone knew the transfer rate (if any) for completing an M.S. in IT Managment at WGU, then going and getting an MBA IT at WGU.

Do any of the M.S. IT Managment classes transfer over to the MBA? And if so what classes? Thanks in advance!
