  CLEP - BIOLOGY Recommendations?
Posted by: GoBroncos95 - 01-25-2024, 01:44 PM - Forum: CLEP, DSST, and TECEP Exam Discussion. Also Modern States and InstantCert. - Replies (11)

Hi Everyone,

I am looking to take the Biology CLEP Exam. This is the last Gen Ed I need to graduate with my associates thru my local community college. I just wanted to ask for some recommendations?

I was doing some mild research and saw the Modern States Biology Clep Prep and a 2 hour long Monitrix Biology CLep Study video.

Anyone recommend any other study tips and resources I should use?

Thank you!!

  Advanced Accounting
Posted by: anthony3070 - 01-25-2024, 11:44 AM - Forum: UMPI - University of Maine at Presque Isle Discussion - Replies (1)

Has anyone here ever taken Advanced Accounting? Just curious what your experience with it is and if the milestones are anything abnormal. I want to make sure I have enough time to finish that class -- the goal is to give myself 3 weeks to just focus on that one class.

Thanks

5 institutions paying fine plus how much college costs in every state
Posted by: bjcheung77 - 01-25-2024, 04:29 AM - Forum: General Education-Related Discussion - Replies (1)

So, it seems about 5 institutions are paying about 104.5 million... What were they thinking in the first place?

Link: Brown, Yale, and Columbia are among 5 elite schools that agreed to pay $104.5 million to students after being accused of colluding to limit financial aid (msn.com)

Here's the 50 states and their cheapest and most expensive institutions, if anyone was wondering!

  Missing Credly Badges form StraighterLine
Posted by: legenwait4itdary - 01-24-2024, 05:57 PM - Forum: Saylor.org, Straighterline, Study.com, Sophia.Org, Coursera Discussion - Replies (4)

Hello,

It looks like not all the badges from SL transferred to Credly. I sent a transcript with 14 subjects but only received 6 badges. I did some research and I understand that SL badges might take a while to transfer (it was 5 business days in my case) but I thought that once they arrive they are all processed at once.

Should I contact SL or Credly or they are not all processed together and there is still a chance the other courses will transfer. (Btw, I took those courses in 2015 and 2016).

Thank you!

Requesting Feedback on Best Degree Path
Posted by: turnitloud - 01-24-2024, 04:41 PM - Forum: Degree Planning Advice - Replies (3)

Hello! I've been reading the forum for a few weeks and tentatively decided to pursue a psych degree at UMPI. I'm concerned about how I will be able to complete the practicum. Anyway, I'm open to all suggestions on what I should do. Thank you for any help you can provide!

What kind of degree do you want?: Would like Psych degree as it’s what I was trying to acquire during my first college career. Am open to a different degree if I can get it sooner and pursue either bachelor’s or master’s in Psych after earning first bachelors. I have had credits evaluated by UMPI and am signed up to begin classes there 3/12.
I have been working on completing Gen Ed requirements through Sophia. Sociology will satisfy the last required Gen Ed.

Big Grin Degree Planning - Longtime listener, first time caller

I have been reviewing posts for the past year, and this is my first post. Initially, I was going to enroll at UMPI, but I have been second-guessing my decision since my writing skills may not be up to par. I started taking English Comp. II, but any tips would be greatly appreciated!
I have seen an increase in activity around TAMUC and am interested since their exams are not proctored. However, there is only one degree plan posted.
I am seeking a CBE that will allow me to accelerate, preferably without a proctored exam, which is why WGU was not my original pick.

Your Age: 48
What kind of degree do you want?: Bachelor's in Liberal Studies to just check the box. Other interests are Health Care Administration and Psychology, with a minor in Addiction or Substance Abuse.

Any certifications or military experience? Yes, through AAPC for coding: CPC, CDEO, CFPC, CPB, CPCO, CPMA, CRC, CPC-I.

Budget: I have a max of $8K saved up.  I'd like to go the cheapest route possible, but will consider spending more for easy and fast.
Commitments: I will be able to study full-time.
Dedicated time to study: 8 hours on weekdays and 3-7 hours on weekends (depending on outside commitments, but these will be minimal)
