I am new here and I have been going over the Instantcert study cards for Here's to your health. What I would like to know is this enough? Is there something else I should be studying?
I earned my Associates online through WIU/AXIA and am currently enrolled at Universtiy of Phoenix, I have one core class left and 24 elective credits I will then need. I would rather CLEP/Dantes test out rather then take the class. Any advice?

Execelsior Psych major question |

Hello,
A little background: I am currently an Excelsior Psych major. Also, I have a TESC credit bank account.
I need one more upper level Psych course to graduate from Excelsior. I was thinking of the TESC course Thanatology. From what I have gathered from TESC I need to have the test sent to me and proctored by an officiant. Has anyone done this before? I am curious of the process. I have exhausted all of Execlsior's tests for my Psych major and thought I would check to see if anyone has information.
ALSO
I would appreciate any tips from previous Psych majors if TESC is not the way to go. I would like to test out instead of an online or traditional course.
Thanks in advance!

I'm having trouble with a particular problem in my Penn Foster Business Stats course. I thought maybe someone could help me out. The problem is as follows:
"The Burger Bin fast-food restaurant sells a mean of 24 burgers an hour and its burger sales are normally distributed. If hourly sales fall between 24 and 42 burgers 49.85% of the time, the standard deviation is"?
The second part goes on to ask:
"Using the information from above, what is the probability that the Burger Bin will sell 12 to 18 burgers in an hour"?
I think my main problem lies in figuring the standard deviation of this normal distribution (part a). My thinking is: 42 - 24 = 18 x .4985 = 8.973 (the variance). The stadard deviation would be the square root of the variance, or 2.995
Anyone?

Does anyone know of a fast and easy online biology class? Or any other fast and easy online class that meets my natural science requirement (only 2 credits left) at EC? I have been waiting for the P/F class to arrive and found out that it duplicates my college algebra class. I need something fast and online to get me done this week.
All help is appreciated.

College Algebra question |

I appreciate the feedback I received on my other post regarding foundation courses to take prior to an MBA. I realized with the amount of extra courses I had to take even after I complete my B.S. in Liberal Arts, it seems that the direction I want to head, it would be better to just go for the Bachelor, General Business degree (BGB) so I waive the foundation route when going for my MBA.
In regards to Algebra, I would reading some posts about what Excelsior would accept. Based on the a review that Excelsior College did prior to switching to Liberal Arts, I had the following requirements for BGB.
36 credit hours to include:
Macroeconomics
Microeconomics
Math at level of precalculus or above
Statistics
Remaining credit in Arts and Sciences electives
Business Component
23 credit hours to include:
* Ethics
* Organizational Behavior
Financial Accounting
Managerial Accounting
Principles of Management
Principles of Marketing
Financial Management
Production/Operations Management
Business Policy
2 credit hours in advanced level Business electives
My question is do you think Excelsior would consider the CLEP Algebra as "Math at level of precalculus?"
If they do accept that course, that leads me to my second question. I have read "Specific Exam Feedback ONLY" for College Algebra, but it seems most of the people that took this course was already a math brain
I need to know if there is anybody else like me who totally suck at math. I took Elementary Algebra over 20 years ago and barely.... passed with a "C" I can't see buying a CLEP Algebra and think I would be able to just learn from it. Has anybody else had to get a pre-algebra book and go from there to Algebra? I noticed some of the post, but it seems that people had went to over 6 different websites of videos to tutorials. I'm curious if anybody has any good recommendations on sequence of books they had to do, in order to successfully pass College Algebra. Example, taking a pre-algebra book, then one or two others in sequence to get a good understanding of it, so they can successfully transition to Statistics next?
Joe
