Free Berkeley Podcasts |

Berkeley has a bunch of free podcasts on their site from actual classes, some of which may help with CLEP and DANTES tests that you might be taking. For instance, I'm downloading the Statistics podcasts to be able to listen in the car.
You don't necessarily need an ipod or other MP3 player to make use of these though. Technically, you could download the MP3 files with the podcast and just listen on your computer or burn CDs for the car.
More info on podcasts here.

Have taken your advice... |

Hi All,
I have taken your advice and put my application in for Excelsior! I am interested to see what they come back with. I want to go into the BS Accounting program, and I have already completed Accounting I at my local community college which UOP does not accept since it's not an upper level course (funny, it surely was intense enough to be considered upper level to me!). I figure that I will stay enrolled at UOP until I hear back from them, and meanwhile complete another 3 credits there (Business Law). It couldn't hurt, since it is covered by financial aid.
I wish I knew more about how financial aid works and being the fact that I would still be enrolled in college, if my student loans would still be in deferrment until I graduated. Also, since financial aid does not cover Excelsior, what happens with the money they have already paid out for the year? I guess Excelsior could perhaps answer that for me.

CLEP and UOP |

Does anyone have experience with CLEP acceptance by UOP? I was wondering how long does it take for credit to post, how many credits can you CLEP, do they issue a grade for the results or just a pass / fail.
Thanks

Man I hate CLEP. I swear I thought I passed it, but I didn't. I only need one more class to graduate. This is so depressing, I thought I did really well on it, studied for 5 days straight. Anyone have any thoughts on what I should take that is easy.
I have already taken the following:
A&I
US History 1 & 2
A&D Abuse
Intro to Psychology
HG&D
I need to pass something before the end of the year. Please someone give me some confidence.

Passed first CLEP - Analyzing Lit |

I passed Analyzing Lit with a 68 - woo hoo! Again most of the tips on this board are on track but here is my insight and what worked for me:
I took all 3 Peterson's practice exams plus the offical CLEP practice test.
I studies the poetry section in IC under the Humanities test... I only reviewed the literary term questions
During the actual test if I started to debate an answer too long I marked it for review or skipped it and moved on. When I went back later the answer usually popped right out at me. I ended up with about 18 extra minutes and first answereed the questions I skipped and then the ones I marked for review. Then I reviewed the passages I found difficult.
I recommend this test... it is manageable not easy but manageable.

Credit for ITIL |

Short Question:
Does anyone know if A.C.E. provides credit/certification for ITIL certificates?
I have several and would like to apply them to my Excelsior BMI degree.
(I've found something about this on the ACE website and relates to this company Management Training and IT Training - Learning Tree International, but not sure how to translate this into credit for my degree)
Long Question:
I'm working overseas (in IT) for an oil company based out of the Netherlands...
We've implemented ITIL processes which are a set of IT industry best practices.
I'm currently attending a 5k USD Service Manager Master certification program, and have already earned several lower level certificates for ITIL e.g. foundation and multiple practitioners.
While ITIL is a set of best practices written by OGC from the UK and being primarily pushed by Dutch training companies (Exin and ISEP), I'm really surprised that I can't find more information about this program on the web as it applies to the USA.
I have what relates to very unique and industry leading skills and certification in this area, but can't see a tangible way to apply this to any degree in the USA.
Has anyone had luck getting credit for this work/experience preferably without going the portfolio assessment route???
