Hey, Everybody! I'm contemplating taking DSST Principles of Physical Science I to satisfy my need for 3 science credits. These are the only thing standing in my way of completeing my degree reqirements. Needless to say, I want to nail this test so I was wondering if anybody has any advice, knowlege, opionions, etc...about it & how hard is it? Also, what are the best study materials? Any info at all regarding this test would be much appreciated.
And on a final note, if anybody wants 3 quick, easy, gen ed credits take the DSST Here's to your health. I took it last week and it was almost a no brainer. Just don't be fooled like I was. My college told me that it would transfer as Biology 105 (I though this would obviously satisfy my need for 3 science credits). Unfortunatley for me, Biology 105 doesn't count as a science class, only gen ed . So now I need another test. Anyways, thank you all for reading my post and I look forward to some helpful advice. Happy Holidays!

Actually, it's my girlfriend that only has 3 classes to go, I've still got 17 ahead, but she's sure excited!!!
Last three classes for a BA in Liberal Studies:
Intoduction to Educational Psychology CLEP
Fundamentals of Counseling DSST
Criminal Justice DSST
We've read the threads on these classes, and they all three seem straight forward, easy to average tests; any final advice?
Thanks for all the help, and I'll still be around for another 8 or 9 months. :o)

I am new here...
I have completed 105 hours of college credit through my hometown university (Marshall). I am ten upper division credits away but still need 13 lower division (doesn't matter which course). I have to actually take the 10 upper division hourse as testing is not accepted but I am wondering, knowing my circumstances, what CLEP exams would you recommend for the remaining 13 hours.
I am considering Information Systems and Computers to start as I have worked since 1993 on the business end of newspapers and use computers daily (I actually run my own website http://www.herdnation.com).
Any thoughts?
Your help is appreciated.

Hello everybody,
I am new here and have a question. I want to take the Introductory Psychology Clep test before Christmas and am studying the IC flashcards. In the opinion of the people here, is that enough to pass or do I need to get another resource? Thanks in advance for any help.

hello everyone,
i am studying like crazy for this test and even dream about it:o sometimes.Today i got more than 75% of the instantcert questions right and was feeling really confident...until.. i googled 'civil war battles chronological order' and i am perplexed now.
Many of the battles listed on most of the civil war websites sound different(except the very important ones) and there are so many that are not even mentioned on instantcert and then thirdly there are so many of them....
I don't know whether there will be questions on those smaller battles because i have no idea about them.I searched for Generals and again so many new names came up.
I don't know if this means i should have studied a textbook also but i want to take this exam soon..maybe Saturday or early next week and i am thoroughly confused.
Also in the instantcert guide every answer is explained in detail...i don't know if the minor details about each battle need to be known.
Please help

taking excelsior's psych of adulthood and aging this monday and i'm pretty nervous. i did a search on this and came up with some good feedback and tips on the test. one thread was from beckysharp on 9/12/06 and it gave a lot of the material covered. it mentions several questions on elderhostel... who is he?!
also, tertiary aging - what is that?
physical and social death - when and how used?
us population curve?
how long european americans live vs. african etc.?
african americans live the longest after living a certain age? i thought they had the lowest life expectancy?
went through all the ic material and did not come across this stuff.
can a/o enlighten me?

For the sake of comparison, I'm about to take the ECE exam Psychology of Adulthood and Aging using only Instacert. I've studied for about 3 hours so far and estimate that I will study another 6-8 hours before taking the test early next week. I will post the results as soon as i have them.
I've been trying to ascertain whether or not this will consistently produce a passing score. Already took DSST Civil War and studied EXTENSIVELY for many months using supplemental info as well. Scored very well but simply need a pass on my remaining exams. Took USSR the other day just using Instacert and Rudman and about 3 weeks study so I'll know around Xmas on that one and pass it on...
Taken
DSST Civil War (63)
DSST USSR (waiting)
Upcoming
ECE Psych of aging
ECE Geronotology
ECE Ab Psych
DSST: Drug & Alcohol
Then....DONE!!

I "applied" at Excelsior around the first week of November and had all my transcipts sent to them...I guess they are really backed up or something--still waiting on that eval, I even called them a week ago to ask some questions and they said they were almost done.
How long did they take for you?
