  Human Growth and Development CLEP
Posted by: abner - 03-03-2006, 06:58 PM - Forum: General Education-Related Discussion - Replies (11)

Whew - I just finished the Human Growth and Development CLEP today...Scored a 59 - it was a REALLY Tough Test.

I highly recommend that those interested in taking the test find some additional literature on Infant development issues as this test really hit this area hard, and if I would not have already been a nurse, I think I would of had an even harder time than I did...

Thats just my two cents...Smile

Last minute tips for US history 2
Posted by: Shark101 - 03-03-2006, 12:52 PM - Forum: General Education-Related Discussion - Replies (2)

I'm about to take us history 2 clep test in a couple of days, I was suppossed to take it last week, but I was sick, right now I'm foscusing my studies on the progressive period to the eisenhower period, are there any last minute tips for this exam? The us history 1 clep was a lot harder and I barely passed that exam with a 51, and I felt that the us history 1 clep exam was not covered well by instantcert, and the official college board sample questions saved me. Does everybody here who took us history 2 clep exam feel that instancert covered the exam well? Thanks God bless

  Principles of Finance
Posted by: knucyt - 03-02-2006, 06:51 PM - Forum: General Education-Related Discussion - Replies (2)

Has anyone taken Principles of Finance and what resources did you use to pass this exam? How hard is it for the somewhat mathematically challenged?

I am looking to take this as well as the following over the next 4-5 months if it's possible. I am also in school at Strayer University doing 2-3 classes each qtr:

Business Law I
Intro to Psych
Human Resource Management
Intro to Sociology (anyone done this one?)
World Religions
Intro to Marketing
Macro or Micro Economics
Humanities
Fundamentals of Counseling

and a few more for electives.

I have CLEP'd: Intro to Computers, English, French (got 12 credits), & Prin. Mgmt so far. Used Instacert and 1 book ea. for intro to computers and Prin. mgmt. I like knowing my score immediately with the CLEP exams!

Thanks for any resource information/guidance on the above, especially Prin. of Finance and HR mgmt exams.

Posted by: gratisair - 02-28-2006, 12:08 PM - Forum: General Education-Related Discussion - Replies (7)

I am figuring out how best to get my 12 creds needed for humanities. I am going to take CLEP Humanities (6), DSST Intro to World Religions (3), but I need another three, any ideas on what TESC may consider humanities that are available by CLEP or DANTES?

Thanks!

  Upper Level Credits - Excelsior
Posted by: ThatPoshGirl - 02-26-2006, 10:37 AM - Forum: General Education-Related Discussion - Replies (11)

I've been downloading the various viewbooks from Excelsior in an attempt to put together a degree plan. I am going for a General Business degree. I want to earn most credits by examination and take a few (4 - 6) classes at the local community college. The thing that isn't clear to me is how many credits need to be upper level. The business viewbook shows that you need 12 upper level business credits but doesn't mention how many of your other credits need to be upper level. Does anyone have this info or do I have to wait until I've enrolled to find out?
