Excelsior/Regents - Ramsey/Karr Connection
Posted by: ShotoJuku - 08-19-2006, 08:04 AM - Forum: Off Topic - Replies (3)

I saw something a little creepy this morning on CNN regarding the JonBenet Ramsey murder and currect suspect John Karr. During the report a former Secret Service agent was doing a handwriting analysis of an employment application that Karr had prepared in Thailand and the note found at the crime scene in the Ramsey house.

Here's the connection: The line that was shown from the employment application for analysis was "REGENTS COLLEGE, ALBANY, NY - BACHELOR OF SCIENCE."

Excelsior was formerly known as Regents up until just a few years ago. Kind of creepy to think that this wacko went down a similar (educational) path as many of us are today. Let's just hope that's where the similarities end!!!

Hello friends,
This is Ray again and this time I have question regarding CLEP test on Human Growth and Development . I need to pass both Economics and one more which I am thinking about Human Growth and Development.
I ask any one who have taken this Exam please let me know if this test is fairly passable by only using IC or needs additional resource for this test.

As usual I will be grateful to any helpful info.

Thanks
Ray

  Getting a military pilot slot
Posted by: MagicATC - 08-18-2006, 01:05 PM - Forum: Off Topic - Replies (1)

I just figured there are a lot of military people here getting their degree for many reasons. Some might be going for pilot slots like I have. I wanted to share with those looking for the same thing as to how to do it. I had help along the way and its time for me to pass the torch. Feel free to contact me here with a PM or email me at [email protected]. I know what its like with no clue for a dream.

  Military?????

Anyone in the military? I'm in the Air Force and am currently working on my CCAF associates by CLEP-ing out of 3 tests. I was then considering applying for Park University (http://www.park.edu) but I wanted some feedback from anyone here.

I also was curious to know if I could still apply for financial aid even though I'm in the military. Anyone?

OK, here's my choices for the rest of my degree. I need to only take 7 tests to finish my degree but 9 listed. Which two would you not take? I am also open to other tests that I haven't listed but these are the approved ones for me already from ECE. I can only use 3 applied professional. Thanks for any ideas!Big Grin

social sciences and history vs psych, sociology
Posted by: meshnest - 08-17-2006, 10:42 AM - Forum: General Education-Related Discussion - Replies (7)

hi, just signed up yesterday. I've spent a dizzying amount of time searching the past messages, but didn't quite get the answer I was shooting for..

so at the risk of sounding redundant...

Would taking the social sciences and history be a better approach than taking psych and sociology to get 6 credits for a social science gen ed requirment?
I started studying the psych ...and realize its only been a day, but I'm spinning my wheels on it.

Although the 1,000+ questions for the social science & history looks daunting too. But some have commented that it was fairly easy..I really need to knock out 6 credits in social science field within 2 weeks. looking for the path of least resistance! Hoping to get some feedback :-)

cheers, Rolf

  ECE Courses
Posted by: Braylen - 08-16-2006, 08:55 PM - Forum: General Education-Related Discussion - Replies (3)

For the Excelsior WebCT or CD-Rom courses, does anyone know if you can do them at your own (quick) pace? I saw some reference somewhere as to only being able to submit a certain number of assignments every 2 weeks or something. However, I also saw a reference somewhere that you can do the Information Literacy course in a day (with an open book/online exam).

I'm wondering if there are any other courses that you can push through like this.

Thanks in advance for any info on this.

  Human Resource Management (ECE)
Posted by: PriTyan - 08-16-2006, 04:35 PM - Forum: General Education-Related Discussion - Replies (6)

After almost a two month delay (new baby boy), I’m getting back to finishing up my degree. I’m taking the Human Resource Management (ECE) test tomorrow morning and was wondering if anyone can give me some words of wisdom.

I plan on only studying Instacert and using the DSST study guide.
