I am unsure if folk here are interested, but the University of Tasmania offers free MOOCs in various subjects. A few of these courses are free of charge such as Living with fire, Children rights and safety, Bushfires, Aged care, Healthcare redesign, Dementia, Traumatic Brain injury, and Multiple Sclerosis.
The free courses don't grant credit, whereas there are some credit short courses starting at 99 AUD.
Hi all! It's me, your least favorite non-degree seeking student.
I leave for OCS in January, which means I need to finish my undergrad journey. For those of you following, I finished the requirements for a bachelor's degree in Poly Sci at Penn State (which, combined with my 204 earned credits resulted in an end to my financial aid) on my PSU transcript last May, and have been working on extra classes to raise my uGPA for future Law School plans. Unfortunately, I got deployed last semester at UMPI and only completed 3 courses, so this is my last chance. For those interested, my courses and grade breakdowns going back to high school (the LSAC is a sadistic organization)
My current uGPA, by my own math, is 3.739. I'm enrolled in one class at penn state to finish a history minor this semester, and will almost certainly get an A in that, raising my uGPA to 3.746
With 9 As at UMPI this semester, my uGPA will be a 3.80. The median at my target school, Columbia law, is a 3.90 and will likely be even higher by the time I apply. The 25th percentile uGPA is a 3.81.
It will take me 51 A's to hit that median score, or about one UMPI course per day. For reference, I work about 40 hours a week, stand duty twice a week on top of that, and am also working on my PT scores for OCS an hour a day and taking swim lessons four times a week. Any advice?

I think posting updates would greatly help my motivation!
Also, I didn’t think I would get financial aid but I applied anyway because of this forum, and I received a Pell Grant!!! This entire session is paid for!!! I’m so excited, thank you everyone!<3
I recently completed this class and must say that it was unquestionably one of the most challenging experiences I've ever had. The work is incredibly lengthy, and it also requires a high standard of quality. I didn't expect it to be this challenging. My advice to those who need this class is that you'll need a lot of coffee and time to complete it! Don't feel discouraged, but rather set aside extra time to focus on completing this class!
Hi Everyone!
Another family sucess story (after myself and my brother) my sister in law decided to finish her degree. She got an AAS from Pierpont, concentrating in communication, right before Pierpont changed their rules.
Then she moved to UMPI where she got her BLS in Management in one term, just finished last week. She followed a spreadsheet plan I put together for her using the information from this forum.
She is now interested in pursuing a Masters from WGU in HR. So we are researching that together, if anyone has any insight into that program in specific please let me know.
It has been so amazing to have been able to help my family members pursue their degrees! Thank you for everyone in this forum!
I realize most of the things that get posted here relate to business, computers, or maybe healthcare. But I was wondering if anyone knew of any cheap or free options specifically in the humanities or liberal arts?
Hey folks, I recently received a reply about I should open a new thread to share my experience with LTI, I'll just share my experience for those who wants to get 6UD+6LD credit as a reminder.
I registered my Chinese WPT test few days ago and signed in to their ProProctor software 2 hours before my log in window(you can actually take the test like 6 hours before the appointment window), the so-called "readiness agent" will scan your room and they will literally look into every corner of your room. I admit my room is kinda mess, so I switched to my parents' room and the onboarding process was hell. After an hour I was able to log into my test, there was a pretest section to test your keyboard, I just skipped the process and that was my biggest mistake.
When I enter the test, I found my Chinese keyboard was not supported by ProProctor but there indeed is a Simplified Chinese hint on the bottom right corner, so I asked the proctor about the problem, she was like "You should stop the test and ask for technical help."
Then I quit the program and asked their customer service which is soooo annoying, there is indeed a automated bot and if you wanna switch to human representative, you should select the worst answers. If you chose a problem-resolved option, you have to start all over again.
At last I had to send emails to their customer support, and the best part? They re-arranged my exam and promised my input method would surely work.
When I got everything ready on the rearranged date, there was not a single hint telling me how to enter the exam and their customer service were sleeping due to the time difference.
I was totally pissed off and asked them to give me a full refund and because I was in a rush to get the degree, I just ordered a new OPIc before they replied. On the second day they replied with they could not give me a refund due to I already accessed the content of the test. Fortunately, the experience with OPIc was wayyyyy better than WPT and I'm waiting for the final score.
To summarize, if you are a foreigner wants to take the language test, do the OPI or OPIc, the OPIc is just a computer based version of OPI. I would recommend OPI because even if you are not comfortable talking to a real person like I do, the readiness process will also involve talking to a real person. But DO NOT DO WPT or the reading or listening, your keyboard might NOT be compatible with the ProProctor software and it would waste you a lot of time and money, and the listening or reading would not give you 12 credits.
Fall 2 Classes start today! Wish me luck! I'm assigned BUS200 and BUS244 to start my journey.
Looking forward to a successful semester in hopes to finish 9 classes. 9 So I can have time for my Pierpont BOG conferral to submit to change BLS to BAS. Then knock out 1 class next semester and be done and on to the MAOL.

What kind of degree do you want?: I’m looking for a four-year degree in any field; the specific major and minor aren’t important to me—I just want to "check the box." I’ve noticed that some classes at UMPI take longer than others, so I’m curious if there’s a degree plan that allows me to complete my studies in one session by focusing on classes that can be finished quickly. I’m open to any major as long as I can finish fast. Also, I understand that you guys tend to maximize minors, but if having no minor helps me finish quickly, that’s what I want—something fast to complete in one session.
Any certifications or military experience?: I'm set to graduate with a Pierpont BOG associate degree this December, and I have no military experience or other certifications

This is for my partner, Brittany, who wants a career change. She is interested in keeping cost low and would like to get a degree in the year. More importantly, she would like to build a foundation in CS that will lead to a internship. She learns best through reading a textbook and taking notes. She plans to do leetcode and follow along through a textbook while passing classes. Not a super strong test taker.
Your Location: North Carolina, USA Your Age: 33 What kind of degree do you want?: Bachelor's in Computer Science, primarily looking at TESU or WGU but open to other options (especially with the new WGU curriculum bringing uncertainty). Current Regional Accredited Credits:
BA in Journalism from DePaul in 2013. Master's in Social Work (MSW) from University of Southern California in 2018
5 classes at local community college (Wake Tech) in past 6 months: Fundamentals of Web Development, Fundamentals of UX, Web Design 101 and 102, Intro to Programming This was done to search for interested in "tech" career. Liked programming in Java the most.
Also took 7 classes at LSUS's MBA program before dropping out because of difficulty with 'Accounting' class. "Management Information Systems" may transfer from LSUS.
Current ACE, CLEP, or NCCRS Credits: None so far but interested.
Any certifications or military experience? Has unrelated LCSW, no military experience. Budget: Preferably under $12k Commitments: Works full-time remotely. Dedicated time to study: About 15-25 hours / week. That is what she is comfortably spending on her local CC classes Timeline: Preferably around 12 months Tuition assistance/reimbursement: Chapter 35, or "spouse GI Bill". She gets around $1.5k/month to take classes full time. She has around 24 months left of this benefit. No plans for more grad school at this time.
We were leaning towards WGU at first but once we realized how difficult it would be to test out in 6-12 months (especially with the new curriculum), started leaning towards TESU. TESU's RA requirement should be easy to reach with DePaul's degree which leaves lots of easier credits. She is also interested in the associate's in math that people talk about. I am also partial towards TESU because my BA in History is from TESU but I also had very different circumstances.
What's a good plan for her? I was thinking of Sophia (two classes) for Intro to IT and Calculus and SDC (7 classes) for CS-103, CS-201, CS-240, Discrete Math, CS-330 (UL), CS-302 (UL), CS-303 (UL). Then taking a 5 class fixed semester of CIS-351, two math classes, capstone, and cornerstone. This would keep cost to around $5k. But that would be a super intense semester (I imagine 30-40 hours of week of work) so interested in other options as well. Has anyone done something similar while working full-time?
Thank you for your help. Again, open to other options for Computer Science.
