Posted by: sackovic - 05-16-2024, 12:54 PM - Forum: Graduate School Discussion - Replies (3)

Quick question. Can you start the ENEB groupon course having only a high school diploma? I don’t want credits, just the program. Thanks

Pierpont AAS for international student with incomplete degree
Posted by: legarams - 05-15-2024, 01:54 PM - Forum: Associates Degrees Discussion - Replies (3)

Hello, I am an international student based outside USA looking to get the Pierpont A.A.S to get an associates degree with an area of emphasis in Maths or Finance. I got pretty far with a mathematical statistics degree but was not able to complete it back in 2014. I sent my transcript to a naces evaluator and they gave me 108 credits with a 2.46 gpa, here are some of the subjects they evaluated. I would like to do a degree with one of the big three, or an american university but I cant afford that currently. I was wondering if the credits I have are overkill, and what more I would need to get the A.A.S. Any other advice based on what I have share is also welcome. I am not able/unwilling to return to my former university  but I am in good standing.

Help creating a degree plan for education bachelors.
Posted by: System360 - 05-15-2024, 12:14 PM - Forum: Degree Planning Advice - Replies (9)

HI there,

I'm trying to figure out how I can get a degree done in the next 4 months. I have already taken several courses on Sophia Learning, and I'm attempting to get enough credits in that I can finish a degree at UPMI in one session. I've currently taken Microeconomics, Macroeconomics, Visual Communication, Introduction to Psychology, Project Management, Introduction to Ethics, Anatomy And Physiology 1, US History 1, Principles of Finance, Essentials of Managing Conflict, Developing Effective Teams, Introduction to Business, and Managerial Accounting. I'm aiming for one of the Liberal Arts degrees that UPMI offers. I need advice on how I'm going to make this work though. How many credits does UPMI take at once? Also, I need help putting together a plan for myself. I am on a deadline because I need to get a degree so I can move to a different state and help a close family member support themselves. Unfortunately, they'll be out of a home by the end of the year, so I need to go fast and get my degree so I can support both of us. Currently my living situation wouldn't work with that, and I make minimum wage. Such is life, but I see an opportunity here, and I intend to grab it.

Why is there a DEI ban in place?

Just confused why there is a DEI ban in place, aren't these programs helpful to the less affluent or the minority?

So is there a list of non-MBA cheap degrees in under a year that are competency-based?
Someone made an excellent point yesterday on my question. Not everyone needs an MBA and the only ones listed are those for MBA

It Costs Over $10 Million in Opportunity Cost to Go to College
Posted by: LevelUP - 05-14-2024, 08:29 PM - Forum: General Education-Related Discussion - Replies (7)

I actually came to this conclusion on my own and was searching the internet for an article written by someone who could properly analyze the opportunity cost of going to college.

The common statistic I see is that people who go to college make $1 million more than high school graduates. However, the opportunity cost isn't factored in.
