  TESU Flat Rate Masters - $18k (MBA - $24k)
Posted by: Captainrekt000 - 05-09-2025, 10:50 AM - Forum: TESU - Thomas Edison State University Discussion - Replies (3)

I was browsing around the TESU website and I noticed that a new graduate flat rate pricing tier FOR NEW STUDENTS was introduced on 3/25/25, starting this May 2025 semester.

https://www.tesu.edu/about/newsroom/2025...ograms.php

All masters degrees at TESU (excluding the MBA and Master's in Psych Mental Health NP) are going to cost $18,000 flat rate (downside is that it appears you'd have to pay for the tuition all at once or over 9 months)

https://www.tesu.edu/tuition-financial-a...t-rate.php

For example, the MA Liberal Studies  degree would cost $18000 for all 36 credits or $500 per credit.

https://www.tesu.edu/tuition-financial-a...t-rate.php

The MBA looks like its also going flat rate at $24k at 39 credits or $616 per credit

Still relatively expensive compared to options you can find using the GetEducated tool

But I thought it was a step in the right direction to make getting online graduate degrees easier for most people, similar to when TESU went flat rate (9-15 credits) for its undergrad programs (currently $4429 for OOS)

  Is Augment MBA a scam?
Posted by: greg4545 - 05-07-2025, 02:12 PM - Forum: General Education-Related Discussion - Replies (10)

If you look at https://augment.org/ they make it look like you are getting a real MBA from a real business school. But after searching online, I see they say they are not accredited and that they offer an MBA Certificate, so apparently they don't offer actual master's degrees. They are backed by celebrity entrepreneurs. Is this legal?

  Undergrad certs and some college
Posted by: sakasaba - 05-07-2025, 07:59 AM - Forum: General Education-Related Discussion - Replies (1)

I'm working on my undergrad cert in marketing at UoPeople and plan on continuing my education after, but while I'm working on both those goals I was wondering if getting this cert counts as checking the box for "some college" to employers in entry level administrative/clerk type jobs.

  TESU Computer Science

So I was under the impression if you're working on a TESU Bachelor's Degree, you do have to do 30 RA Credits at the school but I talked to TESU today and it seems that's not the case? You just need to make sure 24 credits are different than your other degree. So someone who's never had a TESU Degree can still transfer in like 111 credits, do 9 at the school, and graduate with the Residency Waiver Fee, even though it's their 2nd Bachelor's?

Thanks.

Need help with the UMPI changes
Posted by: VBStan4 - 05-06-2025, 12:20 PM - Forum: Degree Planning Advice - Replies (3)

Your Location: Netherlands
Your Age: 20
What kind of degree do you want?: CS or IT related
Current Regional Accredited Credits: 0
Current ACE, CLEP, or NCCRS Credits: No. I'll take them once I build a degree plan.
Any certifications or military experience? No
Budget: I'd like to go the cheapest route possible.
Commitments: I work with my dad part-time, but I can study full-time.
Timeline: Finishing the courses required for the degree as fast as possible would be ideal.
Tuition assistance/reimbursement: No. All costs would be paid by me.

My initial desire was to pursue a CS degree, but I liked the UMPI BABA PM+IS degree and thought of doing it. But I heard there are some changes to it. So I've a few questions:
1. What changes should I consider in the BABA PM+IS degree plan on the Wiki?
2. Should I still pursue the BABA or switch to BLS? My only concern is that I think these changes might affect other degrees as well.
3. Should I consider a different degree altogether?
4. With UoP receiving RA, should I consider them as well?

My friend was curious on enrolling, is there proctored exams in this degree or the Master's in IT? Also is there an extensive list of Transferrable Classes somewhere? Thanks.

Brainfuse Online Tutoring & Writing Lab
Posted by: Jonathan Whatley - 05-06-2025, 08:03 AM - Forum: Saylor.org, Straighterline, Study.com, Sophia.Org, Coursera Discussion - No Replies

Free access to the Brainfuse online tutoring platform is bundled with some Sophia courses, some public library memberships — I’ve seen Brainfuse at public libraries in the US and Canada — and with active student status at some colleges.

I recently asked the Brainfuse Writing Lab to review my draft written assignments for Sophia Spanish I and II. Each time a real human college Spanish tutor, AnneliesseL or MatthewMcD, replied the same or next day each time with several helpful and actionable comments. Some comments addressed specific points such as this word or that sentence, some general points about my submission.

Brainfuse also offers live online help subject to tutor availability, and the Live Help section on the logged-in student homepage also provides the ability to message a written question with an optional attachment to receive an asynchronous response from the next available tutor in a subject.

This page shows Sophia courses that Brainfuse tutoring is available for.

Using an online writing center is a little outside my usual modus operandi. But Spanish is outside my usual wheelhouse, so it merited to try something different.

Recommended!
