  excelsior course exams proctored?

For those of you who have taken the excelsior course are the exams online, or proctored. I still haven't decided what to take for the business strategy requirement and the excelsior course is an option.

Easiest UL Business/ Management elective exams?
Posted by: Katterina - 10-17-2007, 09:50 AM - Forum: General Education-Related Discussion - Replies (7)

Hi all,

My husband is now planning on enrolling at COSC to finish his BS. One of his degree options is Individualized Studies, which would require for him to complete 12 more upper level credits in a new discipline. He has expressed interest in business or management, so I am looking for the best ways for him to test out of it. I never took any of the business exams, so I thought I would ask my knowledgeable IC friends: which upper level exams would be the easiest for him to test out of?

Thanks Smile

Please clarify calculator needed for DSST Principles Of Finance
Posted by: brownstien - 10-17-2007, 12:19 AM - Forum: General Education-Related Discussion - Replies (16)

Ive been reading posts here on the exam and saw many were using the TI BA II Plus. Then I saw the following post....

otis.sh Wrote:Check out the new candidate bulletin - they changed page 13.

Now it's "non-programmable, four-function" calculators. At least they clarified that one. Before, it was just "non-programmable". The questions are, admittedly, extremely, extremely easy with the BA II. Should have used my 12C to learn this stuff in the first place. I'd much rather use that one in "real life", so that's kind of waste. Anyway... Still, not having the financial tables it would seem to put people at an unfair disadvantage.

Perhaps they'll change the nature of the questions, or perhaps they'll see that everyone is failing them and only then change them. Maybe they've already changed them.

Does this mean no more BA II plus? If not, which version is of more use on the exam...the professional version or the regular?

Thanks

Specific feedback section - where is it?
Posted by: scubaprincess - 10-16-2007, 09:51 AM - Forum: General Education-Related Discussion - Replies (3)

I have seen several references to checking a "specific feedback section". I must be computer challenged as I can't find it. Can someone direct me on where is it or what you are talking about?

Well everyone, I am taking my last CLEP on Wednesday. American Lit. Once I pass, I'll let my monthly membership expire- and so I don't think I'll have posting capabilities. But, I wanted everyone to know how much I have enjoyed being here and learning!! Everyone is so great!! I do hang out on the distance learning forum (sorry, but it's free) so feel free to drop me a line from time to time!!

  TESC vs Excelsior
Posted by: Chuckers - 10-15-2007, 05:57 PM - Forum: General Education-Related Discussion - Replies (23)

I am going for a BA in Psych. and have been going through TESC for about 18 months, but am contemplating switching to EC. I am looking at EC because they seem more liberal about where your non-major courses come from than TESC. That and I would get out of having to take Statistics and a Computer Science. The down side I see to EC is Fees (WOW!). You can spend over $1300 in fees without taking a class (not even counting test fees)
$75 -Application FEE
$765 - Enrollment FEE ($895 for non-military)
$495 - Graduation FEE
$1335

Plus $440 per year while you are enrolled. At least this is how I interpreted their web site. Does this sound crazy to anyone else? Just wondering if there is something I am missing. Thanks

Chuck
