  Passed Principles of Management!
Posted by: austinpwrz - 02-10-2007, 02:58 PM - Forum: General Education-Related Discussion - Replies (1)

3 more credits down. Can I just say how much I love CLEPs!!!hilarious

Not much to say on this one that already hasn't been said. IC is more than enough to pass. Take Peterson's exam to gauge if you are prepared to test. I scored a 81, 79 and 84% on the practice exams. A little bit of common sense will also help you on the exams. If you have worked in corporate America this test should be a breeze (with studying IC mind you). I scored a 73 on the exam.

Now I have to figure out what to take next. I only need to test out of 6 social science credits and 9 general electives. Suggestion based on ease are always welcome.

My Course of Action...Your Opinions Please!!!
Posted by: iwannapass - 02-10-2007, 12:43 PM - Forum: General Education-Related Discussion - Replies (2)

Hey Everyone,
I have been hearing how long it is taking for the schools to get back to you, so in the meantime I have outlined a course of action to complete my BS in liberal studies from TESC. Here is what it looks like I have left to complete it.

English 2
Humanities
Soc Science & History
Principles of Acct
Human Growth & Dev (currently studying)
Intro to Ed Psych
Drug & Alc Abuse
Org Behavior
Lifespan Dev Psych
Ethics in America
Analyzing & Inter Lit
Intro to World Rel

I will use Fema to satisy my free electives (27)

How does this sound and in what order should I take these from easiest to hardest...Thank you so much for your help!!!

  HI New to the Thread

Hi all

I am new to the discussion forum. I read through it about two weeks ago and for the first time I heard about Excelsior College. I am a student at University of Phoenix, and paying about $1450.00 per three credits. Since finding out about Excelsior college I am highly considering transfering there and hopefully finish my degree quicker and with less debt in student loan.
My husband who's an MBA student at Harvard thinks this is a big Joke bigger the University of Phoenix. But I strongly feel this is the way for me to take before I go for my MBA.

Could someone please give me some positve words, some encouragement. Also I want to major in Finance would this be a wise decision to make with Excelsior college or should I just do General Business.

  Principles of Management . . . Advice?
Posted by: austinpwrz - 02-09-2007, 08:45 PM - Forum: General Education-Related Discussion - Replies (4)

I am taking Principles of Management tomorrow. I've studied IC and have scored a 81, 79 and 84 on the Peterson's exams. Do ya'll think I'm ready. There is still time more studying but I'm just a little burnt out and still have schoolwork to do this weekend. Thoughts? A couple more stabs at IC or leave it alone and get a good night's rest.

This was my first CLEP, I passed Humanities with a 55! Wow that was some test! I think I would have done better had I not waited till last night to cram. I used InstaCert only, and will now move on to the Natural Sciences CLEP. hilarious

Is there a reason that InstantCert doesn't offer help with the Natural Science Clep? Is it really better to just take the Biology Clep instead?

  DSST computer based tests
Posted by: Papa Georgia - 02-08-2007, 12:05 PM - Forum: General Education-Related Discussion - Replies (3)

A friend recently took a DSST computer based exam and was told that they could not give him a printout of his score.
I am wondering if this is true of all testing centers or if this center was having a problem on that particular day.

Thanks,
Ron

  CLEP vs DANTES
Posted by: AGS - 02-08-2007, 07:50 AM - Forum: General Education-Related Discussion - Replies (4)

what are some pros and cons taking the CLEP and the DANTES...?

I felt the DANTE exams gave the student unlimited timing while the CLEP would put so much pressure ......now i am starting to sound lazy ..
