Hi all. Me again. I've taken a CLEP break since my IR class is kicking my butt, (my own fault for procrastinating)

I was wondering, anyone out there with AMU experience... do you all know what sorts of credit one would get for the FEMA courses, Docnet, and/or Unitar?

It says that all are accepted on their site, and that FEMA also applies to their masters programs... but... as nice and helpful as the admin. have been... they are uber bogged down at the moment, and asside from my advisor not being overly responsive except with general advice like "finish your gen eds, then your core, then... blah blah" they also really sort of refuse to tell you anything about potential credits even if you are enrolled and they could apply to your degree program.

The way to get around this is to submit and evaluation update form... but I all ready have one of those outstanding... from my first clep... which they have not processed yet... (at this moment supposed to take ANOTHER month... for ONE test to show up...) and they don't like it if you submit more while one is yet to be processed...

As impressed as I have been with them, and as happy as I am for the most part, I am a wee bit frustrated and saddened to see some of these Bureaucratic backups occuring more frequently since RA.

One of their snafu's... even after talking to three people in the same department, and being told by all three that it was no problem... cost my registration to all my classes in the next two months...

So, anyone out there... any ideas as to what kind of credit I might get from that going for a BA in Intel? I'm pretty sure about the UNITAR stuff because they offer those courses directly... but... unsure about FEMA, and Docnet.

WOW, what a great forum. Lots of great information! Here is the type of help I am seeking. I have never had very good study habits. As a mater of fact, I don't think I know how to study. Now I know, we are all individuals and each studies according to their method of learning.
I guess what I am looking for is to find a way to study where I can retain the most amount of information my brain can handle. Write now, I read the subect and go find study questions and attempt to answer the question. Usually takes me three to four times to get the subject right.
How do you study? What do you do to retain information? :confused: Any pointers is appreciated. Thanks

When completed, Bachelor of Science in Workforce Education from Southern Illinois University is complete, and its off to a Masters Degree Program.

I need to vent. I signed up for two online classes with my university in August-- two electives that I did not particularly want to take, but a letter they sent me indicated that I needed to take 6 credits above and beyond my AA requirements in order to graduate in December. Later, a school advisor told me there was no such requirement and she didn't know why I received such a letter. But I spent a good chunk of money on the classes and since I was past the refund date, I stuck with them.

Fast forward to now- I just got my midterm grades back (three weeks after I took them-- thats how organized this university is) and my freshman history professor gave me a 44% on my project. I was sure it was a mistake and I emailed him days ago, and today he finally got back to me about it and told me that it was indeed my grade. I was floored reading the email- the reason for the grade was that I got a couple words backwards reading the directions and accidentally wrote the papers on history events to emphasize how they were significant to today's culture instead of past culture. Actually, I covered BOTH, but catered much more to today's emphasis because I mistakenly thought that was what he wanted.

I know I don't deserve an "A" on these papers, but good grief, am I wrong to think a 44% is very harsh when I did the same amount of research and work as everyone else in the class? I have gotten 100% credit on all of my other assignments in this class and I just can't fathom why I would deserve this grade for making a simple mistake. If he won't be reasonable about it I will have to audit the course- 2 months of work and $400 tuition money down the tubes. I emailed him for an appointment to talk to him about it but I haven't heard back yet.

Thanks for letting me rant.:mad: As sick as I am of petty little projects in classes that I could test out of, this is just a slap in the face after all my work. I can't wait to start testing out of courses so I can leave this kind of BS in the past.

I took this today and got an (instant gratification) 64. For those taking this test I would suggest doing the Petersen's practice tests as a supplement. There are questions on there that aren't covered by Instantcert, but you can't go wrong using it as your main resource.

Overall it was harder than I thought it would be. I had studied the IC until I knew it forward and backward but I still made quite a few educated guesses. There were 89 questions and you needed 46 to pass.

I hope this helps if you are preparing to take this test. Onto Human Resources!

I just wanted to let you know I just took and passes Here's to your Health with a 58.

The testing center I went to offers the computerized testing. They said they are part of the pilot program. It took them 20 minutes to logon to the proctor portion of the test. That was pretty aggrevating.

All in all the test was more difficult than I thought. I may of underestimated going into it. There was ALOT of material that was not covered by Instantcert, yet that is all I used and passed. There is alot of common sense health questions.

I spent about 2 days 1/2 days studying at work. I work at a helpdesk so when the phone wasn't were ringing i was reviewing.

All in all im pretty psyched to have started my journey. I had 10 tests to take and now im down to 9.

Mr. Wiizard I certainly am not , so keeping that in mind..has anyone taken the Dantes astronomy test? If so, What resources did you use and recognizing Iam not a science guy..how tough was this test? Thanks,Ron

After bombing in college math the good folks at T.E.S.C. have agreed to let me take a 3 credit math, pending their approval, of my choice. Iam thinking about

Dantes...not sure which math.. need simple!!
Penn Foster..but I can't get in touch with them
AND .. any place else that will let me get this done now!

They said that the other 3 credits I need in science could be astronomy from Dantes, but what resource for studying will do the job..any ideas? Or maybe someone knows of a better course for my science requirement. I have taken the race to save the planet, here's to your health and geology; so Iam open to suggestions. Six credits to go and Iam done, but hopefully not "TOASTED".

Has anyone taken the electronic version of this test yet? I am going to take it next week and was wonder how many quiestions and how much time do they give you? So far all the electronic tests I have taken have been 2 hours and 100+ questions. I see lots of people say 3-4 hours to take the written version of this test hence why I am asking.

Well this test was a bear (scrored a 52). I took the electronic format today and had enough time to review it twice, 106 questions. I used IC and Prometric practice exams for this test only (those are all you need but study hard).

Here is what you need to know:
Be sure to know everything about:
Sedative Hypnotics
Opiates
Stimulants
Hallucinogins
Trade names, street names, effect on the body, withdrawal symptoms, symptoms of addiction, how these drugs interact and potentiate with each other, what impact an overdose would have. About 75% of the test

I only got maybe 10% of the test covering Alcohol and Tobacco if not less. Also know what agencies control what and when they were created! The rest of the exam 15% was misc stuff.
