CLEP Information Systems & Computer Applications |

Hello everyone,
It seems that I was only awarded 3 credits for Amer. Lit. by my school so I need to take another clep.
Is the CLEP Information systems exam mostly general knowledge questions for people that have been using I.S. for a long time? Can I pass it without studying?
Also can I pass Analysing and Interpreting Literature without studying too?
Is it entirely comprehension questions about old poems and essays?
Please reply.

Hey everybody,
I took dsst's Ethics in America yesterday and I feel pretty good about it, but I wont know for 2-4 weeks.
The test had 110 questions with an essay which I didn't have to take, so skipped it. I spent just over an hour on this test which isn't too bad for me, considering the length of this test.
I spent about a week with the study materials, which were IC flashcards and wikipedia articles (John Lock, Immanuel Kant, etc.). I now have enough papers on philosophers to make a decent sized book. I went through the flashcards once, figured what I needed to look up and understand, started on a second run through but didn't finish. Oh, I also studied from the dsst eight test guide book.
The only questions that I felt frustrated over, were the yes/no type. Some of those questions had names and methods that I recognized, but because of the wordiness I could not figure out what they wanted me to prove! Err, I hate it when I feel like I'm being tricked!
I would advise to know what the philosophers felt positive about and negative about, and then be able to compare between the men (and women) themselves, and not just their doctrine. Know the terms of course, and how to apply them to scenarios. Keep religion in mind, modern and ancient. And keep those Greek people apart (Epicurus-Epictetus, Socrates-Plato-Aristotle) their theories are very similar--even their lives are hard to tell apart.
Well in time we'll see if this advice is worth anything. I have my fingers crossed!:o

OK, I'm still licking my wounds and swallowing my pride over my failing HRM. However these things happen and the energy (anger) can be used as motivation towards doing better on future tests. Here is my question: I took the ECE HRM on Jul 12th, can I turn around and retake it on Sept 12th (the 60 day mark) or is it 60 days from the failure notification date? I know someone here has "been there, done that" already so the answer is here somewhere. Thanks in advance!

Well I just went online at Excelsior and saw I failed Human Resource Management, supposedly one of the easier tests??? I studied only IC and thought I knew it inside and out; I wasn't too concerned with the test either. Man...this just sucks. Now I'm going to have to take another UL test even worse than this. That's what I get for getting too cocky...... This isn't doing my confidence a world of good seeing as I have only ECE exams left too.... Looks like I may be doomed to a classroom after all.

EC publication that lists what type is each EC exam. If it's multiple guess or essay. It's a very small publication and its not the guide to credit by examation. Anybody have this or know where to find it on Excelsior's website? I saved it, but it's lost and I can't find it anywhere.

Well,
I took the HGD CLEP last week and got a 49... So close... Anyway.. TESC gives the same credit (PSY 211) for both of these tests and I was wondering if they indeed were pretty much the same test. Should I study the IC HGD and an HGD book? Any tips? I searched and didn't see anything on this. I notices there was a thread were someone mentioned these tests were pretty much the same.
Thanks in Advance
