Budget friendly Spanish language healthcare MOOCs
Posted by: Avidreader - 11-19-2024, 03:39 PM - Forum: Free Courses and Certificates and Good Deals - No Replies

The Mexican Institute of Public Health has offered online healthcare courses for a long time, and recently started issuing badges.

I never made any threads about them because the courses are expensive and don't offer transferrable college credit. Since 2017, they offer MOOCs in a variety of healthcare topics that are self paced.

Signing up for the course is free, but they charge a modest fee to obtain a certificate of completion (I haven't checked how much it costs).

  MA American History for $7,500
Posted by: Mint Berry Crunch - 11-19-2024, 01:50 PM - Forum: Graduate School Discussion - Replies (16)

Hello everyone,

I don't post often, but I did discover - for those interested - a Master of Arts in American History from Gettysburg College for $7,500. Its $750 per 3-credit course with a total of 10 courses:

https://www.gilderlehrman.org/masters-degree-american-history

Not a bad price at all. However, there is a bit of a barrier in place:

Eligibility: "We are currently accepting teachers, district supervisors, librarians, museum professionals, and National Park Service employees. Community college instructors are eligible to apply as well." Additionally, you need a bachelors to enroll in this program as well.

Though, you could get around this possibly if you do substitute teaching (maybe). It is recommended that you email maprogram@gilderlehrman.org for that info.

Further information suggests a "MA+15/30". My interpretation reads this as if you possess a master's degree, 15 of the 30 credits can be transferred. So the degree COULD be $3,750.

O.P Jindal Changes Prices on Some Masters
Posted by: collegecareerstudent - 11-19-2024, 09:20 AM - Forum: Graduate School Discussion - Replies (48)

For all of those interested, I recently obtained an email (this morning) from O.P. Jindal University. They are changing their prices for the MAPP and Master in International Relations, Security, and Strategy via the partnership with Coursera from 6k to roughly 3k for those who may be interested. The degrees are also being streamlined from a 2 year format to a 1 year format. Per the email:

  • Fully Online Master’s Degrees
Both the MA IRSS and MAPP programmes can be completed entirely online via Coursera, offering the flexibility to finish within 12 to 24 months at your own pace.

  • Comprehensive Curricula
    - MA IRSS: A deep dive into 21 core and elective courses on topics such as diplomatic practice, international security, and geopolitical strategy.
    - MAPP: An interdisciplinary curriculum covering public policy theory and practice, including economics, governance, programme design, social sciences, and research methodologies.

  • Specialised Learning Tracks (MAPP Only)
Choose from two specialisations—Data Analytics or Policy Design—to develop expertise that aligns with your professional goals.

  • Global Faculty Expertise
Learn from renowned scholars and experienced practitioners in the fields of International Relations, Security, Strategy, and Public Policy, ensuring a blend of theory and real-world insights.

  • Interactive Learning Environment
Both programmes offer a dynamic mix of pre-recorded lectures and live tutorials, creating an enriching and flexible learning experience.

  • Global Alumni Network
As a JGU student, you’ll join a prestigious network of professionals and global leaders, offering valuable networking opportunities.

  • Affordable Fees
The updated fee for both the MA IRSS and MAPP programme is ₹2,50,000, making world-class education even more accessible.

  TESU CS degree help
Posted by: bhdrck - 11-19-2024, 08:03 AM - Forum: Degree Planning Advice - Replies (6)

Your Location: TURKEY

Your Age: 28

What kind of degree do you want?: Computer science
Credits: None
Budget: $6000
Dedicated time to study: 6 hours per day
Timeline: I don't know how quickly it can be finished, but I'm ready to push the limits

Hello, I'm new here and I have some questions about how the online diploma process works. After doing some research, I came up with a plan. First, I want to choose a school, then gather as many credits as possible from resources like Study.com and Sophia, and later enroll in the school and transfer those credits. Is this how the process works? For the school, I am considering TESU, which accepts international students. I am here to understand the process and figure out what kind of plan I should follow.

Then our Bachelor of Applied Science degree is specially designed with you in mind. Our BAS builds on degree work you’ve already completed and complements it with a Liberal Arts education so you can attain your bachelor’s degree in the shortest amount of time possible.

New to forum I need help and/or suggestions
Posted by: jp245 - 11-18-2024, 09:01 PM - Forum: UMPI - University of Maine at Presque Isle Discussion - Replies (2)

Hi, I’m new to this forum and looking for information that can help me as I plan on applying for the BABA – Project Management & Information Systems at UMPI, do I need 12 classes in UMPI or 10? I’ve completed the Coursera IBM Data Analyst Prof. Series Cert. Does that count for BUS 440? I’ve also completed  IBM Data Analysis & Visualization Spec for BUS 345, Google Project Management Certificate for BUS 400, and  Google Data Analytics Certificate for BUS 245. I’ve heard these certificates also count towards electives and if that’s true then how many more electives would I need for the degree? I’m taking most classes on Sophia and I did BUS244 and BUS415 on SDCM. The 10 classes I plan on taking at UMPI are BUS150, BUS200, BUS220, BUS325, BUS469, MAT140, BUS141, BUS240, BUS343, and BUS359. I plan on taking BUS101, BUS353, ECO207, and COM210 on Sophia. If there are any suggestions on classes that would be better to take or any issues with the classes I’ve chosen please let me know. I’m currently taking 14 Sophia classes for GEC because I saw that certain classes count twice to fulfill the requirements.
