I’m looking into different programs at WGU and University of Maine. I’m unsure of which credits I can transfer into certain degrees as well as concerned that I won’t be able to get into a desirable masters program with transfer credits from Sophia or a like credit service. So my two questions are what courses are transferable to let say in English communications degree or a psychology degree in the second question being is it reasonable to assume that I will be accepted into most masters programs even with transfer credits from sophia? TIA
Know of any free Christmas courses with certificates?

ChatGPT Releases o1 Full Version at $200 a Month. This Is Awesome!!!
Exciting news! For just $200 a month, you can now access the full o1 model—the very same model available in the $20 subscription tier. But wait, there’s more! You’ll also get exclusive access to the pro version (which is probably the same thing with a shinier name).
According to rumors, OpenAI is rolling out this bold new pricing strategy:
Base o1 Model: $200/month
Pro o1 Model: $499/month
Max o1 Model: $998/month
It's like a subscription tier for your subscription tiers!
I have received a couple of emails that ASU 100 Million keeps changing their grading system. I am in my second course, the accounting course, and the grading has been changed to weighted. I will admit I am having some trouble in this accounting course. I thought you needed at least an 80 on each quiz. Plus, there was one quiz I passed with an 80 I got 6.4 out of 8 and now its been increased to 10 and my grade dropped to 64. It is too confusing.
The free community college has no income or age requirement/max but both have a requirement of being MA residents. It only takes 1 year of established residency to gain state residency.
SO. If a person was motivated enough, they could move to MA, establish residency for 1 year, and get free community college and UMass Amherst for a total of 5-7 years!
(Some companies here also offer $7000 in tuition reimbursement if they can get a job and then get a free master's degree too!)
This person finishes college at 25 rather than 22 who went to college out of high school but the 22 year old who got $100k in loans is going to be paying that out the ass for the next 20 years.
I had a family member voice their concerns about me and told me I have too many/working on too many degrees and my head is going to explode.
This raises a few real questions: "Can you be too educated or have too many degrees?" How big of a red flag is it to have 4 associates, 5 bachelor's, and 6 masters to employers? For most of us, it's mostly an expensive hobby.
As long as they're all regionally accredited, and we have the cash, what's the harm? Is there any benefit to getting a nationally accredited master's when you have at least 1 RA BA/BS and 1 RA MA/MS?
I considered adding the $900 ML from Patten U and the $3000 HAU MBA but would there be any pros/cons to having the NA Patten U degree on my resume/LinkedIn?
For context, I come from a low-income family where I'm the only one with any type of college degree (AS+BS+MS)
I'm having a tough time deciding which school/degree to choose. I’ve applied to several, and I've received credit evaluations from most of them. The schools with the highest number of credits are:

Degree Goal: Information Technology Management or another STEM (technology-focused) degree
Current Regional Accredited Credits: 40
Central Texas College (3 credits total):

Any certifications or military experience? 18 years of active-duty Navy service (CWO2/W-2)
CompTIA A+ and Security+ (both recently expired)
Budget: Using Military TA, and willing to pay out-of-pocket for any remaining costs
Commitments: Full-time (active duty), 3 kids (one 19 years old), and a busy “honey-do” list
Study Time: 20-30 hours per week
Timeline: Ideally as soon as possible, but realistically by the end of 2025
Tuition Assistance/reimbursement: Military TA and out-of-pocket for remaining balance
Further information:
Just completed my BOG AAS in Information Technology (minor) from Pierpont, which will confer in December 2024
Currently applied to WGU (BSBA MIS), UW Flex (BAS IST), UMass Global (BS IT), UMPI (BLS-MIS, planning to switch to BAS once AAS confers), Excelsior (BPS Technology Management - IT AOE), TESU (BS Technical Studies), TAMUC/ETAM (BS Technology Management, BS Computer Information Systems), and UMGC (BS MIS)
Leaning toward Excelsior and UMPI because they accepted the most credits.
Questions:
1. What are the pros and cons of the BPS Technology Management - IT AOE (Excelsior) vs. the BLS/BAS-MIS (UMPI)?
2. Which program would allow me to finish the quickest? I only need 22 credits at Excelsior and 33 credits at UMPI.
3. Is there anything I’m overlooking? Any important factors I should consider in making this decision?
4. Does one degree look better than the other? I understand that degrees often come down to "checking boxes," but I want to confirm if there’s a noticeable difference.
I’ve attached the degree plans from both Excelsior and UMPI for reference. Thanks for your help and insights!
I just finished a graduate program at Missouri State and thought I would post a quick review. The program I did was in National Security thought the MSU department of Defense and Strategic Studies (DSS). DSS is geographically separate from MSU and I located in Fairfax VA. My understanding is MSU simply took over the program from another college some years back.
The program offers a graduate certificate, and a MSc with either a general focus or a focus in Weapons of Mass Destruction. The college has a deal with the military, so that officers specializing in CBRNE can take classes here at a discount as part of a requirement for promotion to 0-3/0-4.
There is also a general focus professional Doctorate. All courses can be done in person in VA or online. The General focus at any level can be completed asynchronously online, but the WMD courses require logging in at set times.
Many of the staff are current or former generals and admirals with a relationship to either STRATCOM/Norad, or government SES supergrades with a relationship to the military and State Department. Some of my professors included a current Air Force General, a retired Navy submarine commander, a DIA intelligence officer and a former UN employee that worked as a supervisor of the teams that inspected the Russian ICBMs as part of SALT.
Overall the program was affordable and interesting if you like policy or defense matters. The people serving as professors impressed the hell out of me, given their resumes.
