  Advice Needed
Posted by: tpell1219 - 11-10-2024, 10:54 PM - Forum: TESU - Thomas Edison State University Discussion - Replies (4)

Hi everyone,

I graduated from TESU in June 2022 with a dual BSBA in Healthcare Management and HR Management. Since then, I’ve been actively searching for a job, but haven’t had much luck securing a position. I’ve had a few interviews and received positive feedback on both my resume and interview skills, but hiring managers often go with candidates who have more experience. In one case, I made it to the third round, only for the funding for the position to be pulled.

Right now, I’m at a crossroads and considering my next steps. I’m debating whether to pursue a Master’s in Healthcare Management or an MBA, or even to return to nursing school for a second-degree BSN, which would cost around $40,000 at TESU. I’ve also contacted the state unemployment office to explore whether they can help me obtain certifications like PMP or Lean Six Sigma. There are several other certifications I’d like to pursue, but finances are tight, especially since my husband has been battling cancer this year. Thankfully, he’s doing well now, and we’re in a good place for me to focus on my career again.

I’ve tried everything to find a job networking on LinkedIn, sending messages, reaching out via email, and tailoring my resume for each role but it’s been tough. I’m feeling pretty defeated and would really appreciate any advice or suggestions on what to do next.

  Proctortrack blocked by device driver
Posted by: mbcummings - 11-10-2024, 06:07 PM - Forum: CLEP, DSST, and TECEP Exam Discussion. Also Modern States and InstantCert. - Replies (15)

After many weeks of intensive study and a full day of cram prep yesterday for my first CLEP exam today, I'm extremely disappointed and proportionally annoyed (pissed ) that CLEP's remote test vendor, Verificient (developer of Proctortrack) won't let my extremely conventional, hardly ever used, HP "Envy" windows OS 10 laptop, with a fingerprint authentication feature, pass their system test. Because

  1. Proctortrack can't distinguish between user-operated software and system-operated drivers.
  2. The fingerprint reader driver can't be disabled or uninstalled.
  3. They don't support Apple devices.
Naturally (if not obvious) I tracked down the culprit driver (wbfresetservice111.exe) and attempted to disable and uninstall it. Which I can for about 1 minute before windows re-initiates it in the background (automatically). As the authenticated windows user I don't have perm's to change perm's of the exe/driver either. Only system does.

I'm not going to buy another laptop just for their crapware!

Has anyone else run in to this or something similar? Resolved? If so, how?

Hoping to warn others too, of course. Though there's no way to prevent it before your first test, because CLEP's workflow doesn't let you download and install the Proctortrack crapware ahead of time to test and verify. Instead forcing us to wait until the first exam date/time to install and find out if it will work or not.

Yes I submitted a support ticket to Veri[unef]ficient. So unhappy with CLEP and their cheap sloppy remote exam vendor.

  TESU: Credit Transfer to BACS
Posted by: 25BangBang - 11-10-2024, 03:50 PM - Forum: TESU - Thomas Edison State University Discussion - Replies (6)

I have quite a few IT and cybersecurity certificates from working professional and was wondering if any of them would transfer to the BACS @ TESU. I believe the consensus is that TESU is not gracious when accepting certs but remain optimistic.

Sec+ transfers as CYB-2200 but how does that relate to the Comp Sci BA at TESU?

The Savvy Coders bootcamp was a 12 week course. Do you think it's possible to get it transferred as "Intro to Python Programming"?

More than half of the certs are not listed on the TESU site and I sent PLR@tesu.edu an email 3 weeks ago and they still have not replied. Admissions has been less than helpful. I recently sent the "transcripts" to transcripts@tesu.edu and am hoping to get a better response. Listed below are the certs I have for reference.

ISC2 - CISSP
Scrum Alliance - Certified Scrum Master
CompTIA - Security+
Microsoft - AI-900
Microsoft - AZ-900
Savvy Coders - Data Analytics and Python bootcamp
Cyber-AB - Certified CMMC Professional

TAMUC (East Texas A&M) Health Services BAAS
Posted by: SpartacusPM - 11-09-2024, 09:23 AM - Forum: General "Big 3", B&M colleges, and other colleges - Replies (8)

Happy Saturday all,

I have been on my degree hacking journey since earlier this year and just about ready to start at UMPI, just waiting for one more transcript to be received by them and then be evaluated. My goal is to share what transferred in and my data points once I start. My determination has encouraged my wife to go back to school and get a bachelor's degree as well.

We are in Texas and have recently been looking at TAMUC for her especially since she already has an AS in Health Services, so the BAAS in Health Services Administration program is the one she is interested in as it will further the career she is already in.

With that said after looking through various posts on here and other sources I haven't been able to find much information on hackability on this. I have seen plenty for the ORGL degree, outside of the general education information on that one, it doesn't offer more that we can use. I imagine with her having an AS already she will at least check off most if not all of the general education and some electives and shouldn't be far off from classes she may be able to take from Sophia or Study.com in order to reduce the classes she would have to take at East Texas A&M. I have already warned her about the Texas Government class.  Big Grin

Is anyone aware of a thread or a source that might discuss this BAAS in Health Services so we can look at what sort of game plan might be possible?

She went ahead and requested more information on this with the school yesterday and already requested her transcripts be sent for evaluation, so we may just have to wait for that and go from there, just trying to see if we can get a jump start on it.

Hello,
So I need to know if there is any degree plan on CSU's IT or Cybersecurity programs.
Also, do they accept ACE credits ? I know they accept sophia and I have all gen eds done (except two)
I also have a lot of coursera google courses which have ACE credits which is why I need to know if they accept them or not.
What about credits from Nationally accredited universities ? are they accepted ?
Thanks.

Sending Onlinedegree.com transcript to University of the People
Posted by: Avidreader - 11-08-2024, 09:19 PM - Forum: UoPeople - University of the People Discussion - Replies (18)

Given I had signed up for this university taking advantage of the discounted 15 USD sign up, I had already recently completed 10 OD courses and it doesn't hurt to send the transcript now that University of the People now accepts NCCRS credit.
Once you finish all of the onlinedegree courses you want, you just fill out the form (I used the free option and felt it was very streamlined and easy to use). You write the university address and the final 4 digits of the Social Security number for ID purposes and click send. An automated email arrives to your mailbox immediately they will process the transcript within 2 weeks. I glt an email precisely on the 14th day requesting the transcript request be made again and send a reply to the automated email with a scan of a valid ID.
Their response was very quick and I got this email today stating the transcript will arrive to the university in 1-2 weeks. I am very curious to know what their transfer equivalent will be. Most likely most of them will come in as electives.

TAMUC- Advanced Hours and COMS/ENG/HST Transfer
Posted by: loavli - 11-08-2024, 04:40 PM - Forum: General "Big 3", B&M colleges, and other colleges - Replies (8)

Hey there!
Ill be starting at TAMUC for organizational leadership this spring and am trying to knock out a few more classes on Sophia. Does anyone know if Introduction to Ethics transfers into the general ethics course to satisfy the COMS, ENG, HIST, MMJ or PHIL classes, or if any of the humanities will work? I was also only able to bring in 17 of the 36 required advanced hours to transfer and was wondering if any of the Sophia courses count towards advanced hours. Thanks in advance!

  Pierpont area of emphasis

Hello,

I am graduating from Pierpont in December with an AAS BOG degree. The degree will have an aoe of Information Systems, but I don't see anywhere in my records that indicates that the aoe is actually applied to my degree. Where would I see this?

Thanks, Duane.
