Is it too late for the BOG?
Posted by: Samhain408 - 09-08-2024, 02:50 PM - Forum: Associates Degrees Discussion - Replies (4)

Hello Everyone,

I am new to the forum and possibly interested in getting the BOG before I apply to UMPI. Is it still possible? For reference I have been taking courses on Sophia and Coursera. I don't have any college credits from a regional school but here is what I have completed in the past 10 days

Intro to Statistics- Sophia
Visual Communications - Sophia
Project Management - Sophia
Microeconomics - Sophia
Macroeconomics- Sophia
Microbiology - Sophia
Intro to Nutrition - Sophia
Intro to Ethics - Sophia
Intro to Business - Sophia
Human Biology (no lab yet) - Sophia
Environmental Science - Sophia
Art History II - Sophia
Google Digital Marketing and Ecommerce Cert  - Coursera
Google IT Support  Cert - Coursera
Google Project Management Cert - Coursera

Is it possible for me to pull this off before the deadline? If so what classes do I need to take to get it done? I am in English Comp 1 currently on Sophia and submitted all of my Touchstones except one just awaiting the grades from the other 3. Should I even attempt this or should I just focus on getting a BLS with a few minors from UMPI? Thanks in advance

Topping up OTHM Diploma into a BSc Degree? EU
Posted by: Branc93 - 09-08-2024, 01:54 PM - Forum: Degree Planning Advice - Replies (3)

Hi, I'm currently doing the OTHM Level 5 Diploma in Accounting and Business (L5DAB-OT-V2.0) through distance learning, basically half-way through it.

I am from Malta and here UK Diplomas and Degrees are well regarded. I was doing ACCA and I have done the Fundamentals (MA1,MA2, FA1, FA2) and I received 2 diplomas, RQF level 2 and 3. The problem is that where I want to apply for job post (with Maltese Government) they state qualification requirements along with the 'minimum ECTS/ECVET credits', not just the level of the qualification, and the ACCA Diplomas I received are both under the 60 ECTS Credits requirement for the job post.

the OTHM Diploma is 120 UK Credits (60 ECTS) and MQF Level 5, so I should be eligible for the job once I complete it.

My question is, in order to top up an OTHM Level 5 Diploma into a BSc qualification (minimum of 180 ECTS), through distance learning from Malta, are there any recommended Online Universities / Distance Learning Top-Up UK Programmes that accept OTHM diplomas so that I can top-up into a Bachelors in 1 year instead of the usual 3 year duration?

[WGU-BSSD] Bachelor of Science, Software Engineering
Posted by: JB33 - 09-07-2024, 09:38 PM - Forum: Finalized Degree Plans - No Replies

So, I found this forum a number of years ago and had copied someone's degree plan. I ended up breaking into the industry without a degree and kind of put off working towards my degree leading to the information to being dated. I don't see any new degree plans for this out there, so I updated the old degree plan and added some extra functionality to it like dropdown for school (can add more if you want) and double clicking date for a calendar date picker. All courses are updated and each of the Sophia and Study.com transfer courses are listed in the notes for the WGU courses. Figured I'd contribute something back for anyone who wants since I updated it for myself anyways.

If you notice any errors, let me know. I tried to double and triple check everything and I feel like it's as accurate as possible, but I am only human.

Note: This is for the Java pathway, may need slight edit for the C# pathway, but likely only swapping one or two classes around.

  Electronics degree online
Posted by: msa145 - 09-07-2024, 07:48 PM - Forum: Degree Planning Advice - Replies (5)

Hi there,

I am looking for an online electronics degree. I'm interested in a flexible payment plan, preferably with monthly payments.

I am open to programs from the UK as well, ideally at the Level 7 certificate.I would like to complete all credits through the program itself. I found a program at Excelsior, but it's beyond my budget since I plan to do a full program.

Despite having over 100 credits accumulated from sources like Sophia and CLEP, I need to complete a full 4-year program because of accreditation requirements where I live. I know it’s not ideal, but it’s necessary.

Could you please let me know if there are any suitable options available?

  South College DBA Journey Completed
Posted by: maxxor6868 - 09-05-2024, 10:32 PM - Forum: Doctorate Degree Discussion - Replies (19)

Hello! I recently completed my DBA at south College and I just wanted to say thank you to everyone here. Without this amazing forum, I would not have earned my degrees so quickly. My post-history has more but I have achieved my grandfather's dream of completing my education. I earn my AA from my local community college, my BACS from TESU, my MBA from WGU, and my DBA from South College. It was a tough road but I am so happy to be done. I have been working in my chosen career for several years now and between tuition reimbursement, degree hacking, and competency-based education I have paid for all my tuition. I have no idea if I could replicate this again in such a short time frame but if I could do it anyone can do it. Again thank you to everyone on this forum for all the wisdom and support I have gotten over the years. Future thinking Besides some certs like the PMP or maybe some independent design courses (always wanted to learn how to sketch cars in detail) I am done with my education. My goal with this is to build my resume not now but for a few years down the road in my career when I wanted to have to build up my name for mgmt.

Does anyone know if the Study.com course 'Social Science 108: Ethics in the Social Sciences' will transfer in to TESU to fulfill the Ethical Leadership requirement?

The online equivalency guide has that it transfers into TESU as SOS-2160. (not even a class on their course guide)  Undecided

Pierpont BOG Associates - speedrun before residency changes
Posted by: millionwords - 09-05-2024, 10:56 AM - Forum: Associates Degrees Discussion - Replies (42)

All right, so, lets see if i can get my BOG associates approved before i have to spend a couple thousand to meet the 15 credit residency requirement. My current stats - 59/60 credits - 34 credits from previous institution, 15 creates from Google IT cert, 10 from wgu with a caveat that I transferred in security plus to wgu to gain those credits. My plan is to finish up one 3 credit class at wgu and submit my wgu transcript. I've already submitted Google IT cert, and previous intuition transcreipt. Lets hope that this extremely scuffed process works. Any tips or tricks yall can lend a poor college student as myself?
