credit transfer process at Pierpont for AAS, BOG
Posted by: tdat314 - 03-25-2024, 03:10 PM - Forum: Associates Degrees Discussion - Replies (12)

I recently applied to Pierpont for the BOG AAS and was accepted. I sent in my transcipts from Credly and some additional transcripts from prior classes taken at other colleges.

I sent out a message to Nancy asking for any additional info needed for my degree evaluation or requirements.

She said to wait 2 weeks for an update and after waiting for this time, I sent another email asking for any updates.

During this time, I have not seen any sort of credits added to my ROAR account or showing in degreeworks from the student portal.

Nancy replied saying I needed to apply and be accepted to the school and send transcripts. I told her I had already done so and have not heard back again.

Am I missing a step here or just being impatient?

  Bachelors of Science in Business
Posted by: BigJohn1975 - 03-24-2024, 08:55 PM - Forum: EU - Excelsior University Discussion - Replies (10)

Hello,
I'm having a real hard time figuring out what exactly is required to meet certain course requirements with Excelsior.
For UMPI and TESU it is much easier to figure out.
Looking for some help in figuring out what I would have left for a Bachelors of Science in Business, no concentration.
Really I'm trying to see if I can finish the degree with only the 3 classes, Cornerstone, Info Lit, and Capstone.
I have my Gen Ed stuff done through previous community college and Sophia Learning.
With Sophia Learning I have completed 50 classes. Every business and management class.
CSM Learn.

  Any suggestion for online DBA
Posted by: doyouhowdo1 - 03-24-2024, 01:17 PM - Forum: Doctorate Degree Discussion - Replies (35)

Hello everyone. I will finish my online MBA with Cardiff Met this September. I know some of you saw my post I created about the UCAM DBA. Which clearly I don't want to do anything with that unofficial DBA.
I need help with using a online DBA that must be recognized by Hong Kong and/or New Zealand. The cost can be anything lower than 30000USD. I saw many university in the U.S do offer online DBA, but they didn't say they will accept international student. For example, Liberty University.
I did look at the DBA degee in HK, the cost is way too high and the NZ university required me to travel there even though it says it is distance learning.
The problem with Malaysia university, they required me to learn Malay. Which clearly I think i will never pass their language test. With the Philippines university, by looking at the forums, the U.S only recognized the Doctorate degree as a master level, so I don't want to do that. I have look for DBA for months on Internet. But still cant decide which one is right for me

I have also looked at platform like Upgrab, etc. Most of the program offered have been discussed in the fourm, which shows that doesn't get a good review. So I want something that is safe, fully online, no exam and recognized by most wealthy country. Am I asking too much only wanting to pay 30000USD?

Czech 100% online MBA and DBA for 3k/5k
Posted by: David1477 - 03-24-2024, 01:53 AM - Forum: Graduate School Discussion - Replies (7)

I found a very interesting offer: https://www.businessinstitut.eu/program-...ent-online

Their list of accreditations is very long and some of them look meaningful, but I am not 100% sure if they are legit.

3600€ for an online MBA in english. It seems accredited too.

Their online DBA is around 5k. What do you guys think ? Any red flags ?

Seems to be ACBSP accredited:
https://acbsp.org/members/?id=27045128

Also:

Business Institut is accredited by the Ministry of Interior of the Czech Republic under § 30 par. 5 of Act no. as an educational institution under accreditation number AK / I-47/2014, proceedings number MV-138186-4 / ODK-2014.

  Degree Planning- MS degree
Posted by: dodek101 - 03-23-2024, 09:17 PM - Forum: Degree Planning Advice - Replies (8)

Location: New Jersey, USA
Age:45
What kind of degree do I want?:
MS in Cybersecurity, AI or Computer Science, open to suggestions

Current Regional Accredited Credits:
TESU - BSBA General Management (2021) 120 credits 2.80 GPA
TESU - ASNSM Computer Science (2021) 60 credits

Certifications:
A+, N+, S+, AWS Cloud Practitioner
IBM Cybersecurity Analyst Professional Certificate- Coursera
Google Project Management: Professional Certificate- Coursera
Google IT Fundamentals Professional Certificate- Coursera
TEEX- a lot of cert in cybersecurity

Budget: I have a max of $8K saved up.

Commitments: I currently work full time and can work on my studies part time or in the evenings/weekends.

Timeline: I plan to finish the courses required for the degree in 2-3 years, taking two courses per semester.

Tuition assistance/reimbursement: Yes, my workplace offers tuition reimbursement. I receive $815 per graduate credit, based on the grade received for the course: A-100%, B-75%, C-50%.

My goal is to use the tuition reimbursement program to advance my career in IT public sector.
After graduating from TESU, I secured a position in local government as an IT help desk technician, and I have been in that role for two years now. I have not yet applied to any graduate schools and am unsure where to start. My biggest concern about being accepted into graduate MS programs is my low GPA and the fact that my BA is not in the field of Computer Science.

My question is, which online schools should I consider applying to?
Are there any alternative ways to earn credits?
Should I improve my GPA somehow to be considered by graduate schools?"
Out of those three majors, Cybersecurity, AI, or Computer Science, which one would be more attainable?
Any suggestions and questions are welcome.

  I defended my dissertation!
Posted by: soliloquy - 03-23-2024, 08:14 PM - Forum: Graduate School Discussion - Replies (17)

I'm excited. I defended, and my committee concluded by calling me a Doctor. I finished ahead of schedule. I attended a private non-profit university, and it was a great experience! It's hard to believe I came here 11 years ago trying to figure out how to finish my AA degree, and now I am finishing my doctorate. Every time I have an academic accomplishment, I think about how much I learned from this board!

Has anyone tried recognizing ENEB/UC1 or UoPeople degrees in Australia?

Has anyone tried recognizing ENEB/UC1 or UoPeople degrees in Australia?

It seems like you need to use https://www.vetassess.com.au/ for immigration purposes. But a thousand dollars is really a lot.

As far as I know, vetassess might have some kind of partnership with enic/naric from Europe. And might so similar assessments, so if enic/naric in Europe/UK evaluate favorably, that vetassess should do so too. I have no idea if it makes sense.
