I recently applyed to Metropolia and received 3 emails from the University.
a. "Study right for path studies" from noreply@metropolia.fi b. "Metropolia Open UAS: Welcome to Degree Progamme of Information Technology, path 180 ECTS" from Virve Prami c. "Metropolia Open UAS: Welcome to course Google Cloud Computing Fundamentals" from Virve Prami
b. It says "You have been accepted to Metropolia’s Open UAS Degree..." and it's just instructions about Viope, Moodle and LabSim/TestOut.
c. An email about "Google Cloud Computing Fundamentals" credentials and instructions.
a. Says:
"You have been given study right in terms of the following Open UAS path...",
"An Open UAS student profile has been created for you. Please activate a user ID for your profile...",
"If you did not complete a strong identification when enrolling, you must visit a service point of Metropolia's Student and Admission Services and present an identification document in order to receive your user ID.",
"Once you have activated your user ID, log in to your e-mail at mail.metropolia.fi/."
1. Is this a new thing? Do I really need to go to Finland to shop my passport? It's not that far from Lithuania, but still, I would rather not, if possible.
I read someone saying they activated it using a "secure email", but I'm not sure who to email about it.
In the depths of the Metropolia's wiki I've found some pages that say I can do so by using a "password slip", which I have to receive from helpdesk or the university somehow?
2. So I guess I will only receive an email after activating an account?
3. I have also registered for Viope and completed a course there. From what I understand, once the course is completed to 80/90%, I need to email them, provide a course proggress screenshot and also give my User ID/Metropolia ID for the course to be checked and transfered there?
4. At which point do I have to pay the 579€? Since I haven't yet received an invoice.
A quick query, when signing up for some of the TEEX Cyber Security courses, they point out that they are only allowed for citizens or permanent residents of the US and asks you to click to acknowledge and confirm you meet this criteria. As it sounds like a lot of non-residents have done these courses, can anyone confirm they had no issues when it came to asking them to provide a transcript to ACE / Credly to obtain credit?
I never received credit automatically for Cyber 101, I'm just about to finish 201, I was going to finish all three and then request the credit, but it'd be a bit annoying if they point out at that stage that I'm not US resident.
I am on my second semester at UMPI- YourPace and I find that some of the professors have a hard time with online teaching vs traditional classroom teaching.
For example.... my biology professor wants us to spend 45 min outside in nature taking photos to identify the biome for one of the milestones. It is the dead middle of winter, we just had a snowstorm where I live, and also it gets dark when I get off work at 5pm. That kind of assignment doesn't make sense for an online course that is supposed to be geared toward working adults.
I had a journalism professor ( Dr. J and the girls ), who was not coherent in her assignments. For example, before the first milestone all of the activities talked about AP style writing and how to do an interview but for the milestone, the assignment was to write an article and when I wrote the article the whole thing was wrong, but she never taught us how to do that assignment. It is not a good use of someone's time to have to keep doing assigments over because she lacks instructions.
If I weren't a transfer student and so close to a degree, I would leave this school. Some of the assignments the professors want doesn't make practical sense for an online course.

According to the Wiki I have most transfers covered, but I want to go into UMPI with only 10 classes needed for the degree and to finish in one semester.
I have the following 14 remaining for the plan: BUS 200, 220, 240, 244, 260, 321, 325, 330, 335, 415, 440, 469, 489 and MAT 140 (I'll take this at UMPI, I don't like calc).
There are no Sophia's remaining. Which 4 classes should I take from the above and where? I 'd prefer a Sophia like experience (guided and quick).
Good news. My significant other has asked me whats the absolute fastest they can upgrade from an associate in nursing to a BSN with the goal of going into an NP program later.
I figured it's gotta be either WGU or TAMUC. WGU is pass/fail which is not ideal for getting into an NP program. So we're going to give TAMUC a go. The BSN is not run by the College of Innovation and Design so I'm expecting the possibility it may differ from what we're used to.
It's $1000 per semester vs the CIDs $730 programs. Once we get a credit evaluation and get enrolled, I'll start reporting what the program and classes are like. My partner has I think 97 credit hours from their Associates.

Hello everyone,
I'm new to navigating degree plans and seeking advice on the best approach to save on college costs while graduating efficiently. I'm considering platforms like Study.com, Sophia, and others. I'm particularly interested in pursuing a BS in Computer Science, a BS in Cyber Security, or a BA in Human Resource Management.
Could anyone provide a detailed comparison, preferably in spreadsheet format or course breakdown, outlining the pros and cons of each platform for these specific degrees? I'd greatly appreciate any insights or recommendations based on your experiences.
Thank you in advance for your help!
It would be great if I could save alot of costs.
As I checked on Ababin which is the database of the German government that provides information about the accreditation and acceptance of foreign third-level degrees around the world and TESU appears +h- which mean it could not be regonised or rejected by German universiry, COSC, Purder Global, Liberty, UMPI and Excelsior appear H+ which are accepted in Germany
My personal information:
1. Work Schedule: Working from 9-6 means my study time will primarily be in the evenings on weekdays around 3 hours and Weekends.
8-10 hours. This requires a flexible study plan that accommodates my work hours.
2. Budget Constraints: Since I'm looking to save costs, opting for affordable options like Study.com or Sophia could be beneficial.
3. Time Management: Considering my ADHD and anxiety, it's important to have structured study plans and perhaps courses with engaging formats to keep me focused during my study time.
4. Medication: Being on medication for ADHD and anxiety might affect my study habits and energy levels, so choosing a program that offers support or flexibility in pacing could be advantageous.
5. Study Hours: Allocating around 3 hours on weekdays and 8-12 hours on weekends indicates a significant commitment to my studies. Opting for accelerated programs or platforms with self-paced learning options could suit my schedule.
6. Timeline: With my goal of completing my degree within 1 year to 1.5 years or less, prioritizing programs with accelerated options or credit transfer policies could help me achieve this goal.
Years ago, I tried ENEB and found it very difficult to study. Though written in English, the flow was off (e.g. a business term definition would be scattered across 4 pages). I gave up and did WGU. Foreign degrees have again caught my attention for a doctorate. Prices are inline with budget (5K - preferably less as I am older so no ROI).
If I do CUE (Spanish) or some other foreign degree, what are some strategies to
#1.Convert PDF/Word/webpage to English (I assume Google translate).
#2. Reorganize to make it more meaningful (e.g. Highlight, create a "Study doc", etc...).
#3. Get to a point where you feel you can write (Assemble/organize all notes).
#4. Convert it back to original language for submission (Google translate again?).
I understand the process may be as simple as the suggestions above but want to hear other ideas.
I'm primarily looking at CUE "Excellent DBA" and secondly, the Philippines <-they'll likely be easier to understand. Samples and clean information are hard to get from non-US. They keep sending irrelevant links when I ask for something specific (even when asking the question in Spanish).
For background: I've traveled more than most, decent in German/Spanish and was married to a Filipina. My brain however has micro-challenges that can hang me up big time.

Introduction:
Hello,
I am fairly new to college. My parents did not attend, and my older sister has been pursuing her degree for about a year. In high school, I took dual credit classes (about 30-34 credits), so I do have some college experience. Initially, I planned to go to college within a year of graduating (2022). I had my eyes set on pursuing a degree in the medical field (albeit I never knew which route). However, my plans changed when I had my daughter. Now, I'm ready to go back to school and pursue a degree. I am trying to secure a degree that may offer remote positions so I can be around my daughter more. Right now, I am in line to pursue an associate of applied science in Cybersecurity in April in hopes of transferring to WGU afterward. My degree plan is entirely online. I have chosen to pursue the AS because I will have extra money leftover from the FAFSA, and I will qualify for the WGU PTK scholarship, which will hopefully leave me debt-free if I can graduate with a bachelor's from there.
Here's my issue: I lack confidence in my decision. I'm going into this degree almost blind. I've taken and completed the Coursera IT Fundamentals course, and I am in the process of completing a Cybersecurity fundamentals course. However, I may not receive the certificate for the Cybersecurity Fundamentals because of financial issues. Right now, I have audited the course's information. Alongside this, I have found freecodecamp, which I have dabbled in getting the free certificates that the website offers. Are there other free resources that I may be overlooking?
As a result of my lack of confidence, I keep backpedaling to a business degree route instead. I have experience in customer service, and I find that it may be more natural (therefore easier) to complete. Still, I want to pursue Cybersecurity, I just don't know how to go about it. I've got the motivation to put in the work, but I have my worries, and reasonably so.
Note: I have read a lot about people recommending CS instead, but I don't believe I have the mathematical ability to do well in that route. I struggle with statistics and a little in algebra. My strong suits are mostly writing, history, and sciences. Regarding the Cybersecurity route, I have noticed that some people recommend entering the field with a specific niche in mind. Is this correct? I know the field is very broad, and I still do not know the different professions well.
