Grrrr!
Just a little rant.
I went to my local university to take DSST Drug and Alcohol Abuse and it never happened. I was nervous, but I felt I knew the IC very well and was ready to take it. Unfortunately, they had a new proctor that couldn't figure out how to log me in. My first clue was the cheat sheet she was using. Then she didn't ask me which college to send the score to (she gave me a blank look when I asked to send it to Excelsior, code 9370). She sent me into the computer lab twice, but the screens were set up for completely different tests, not even close to DSST. I even tried logging into them, thinking it was a new system, and of course they didn't have any of my information. She insisted that I must have forgotten my ID and password and gets another girl to help her, but neither can figure out the problem. They tried to create a new user name for me and that failed. This goes on for 45 minutes and then she finally tells me there is nothing she can do for me. She again insisted that I forgot my ID and password, so I left. I was already tired from working all day and was only getting more tense from the situation anyway. I wondered if maybe I really had forgotten my password and ID in my cramming haste.
I got home and went to the DSST site to figure out what went wrong. It turns out that of my info was correct! I logged right in, no problems. The proctor had no clue what she was doing.
So! If anyone else gets a clueless proctor that tries to log you into the wrong site, give them this address:
Prometric Online Testing
Maybe I wasn't meant to take the test today for some reason. It's probably a good thing, since she didn't get a chance to screw up sending my score as well! At any rate, the other proctor should be back Monday, so Monday it will be.

I took the College Algebra today and passed with a 55!! That takes care of my precalculus requirement. I studied using the REA College Algebra book and I used a text book entitled, Introductory and Intermediate Algebra: A combined aproach. I think if you study that text, anyone will pass. I studied for approximately 5 weeks and put in a total of 45-55 hours, but it was worth it!
On the exam, I found there were simply polynomial problems, some problems on inverse functions, some questions on composite functions such as f(g(x)), and only two questions on line equations, finding the slope of a line.
There were multiple questions on graphs, specifically being able to pick out the graph of a function, and there were two or three problems that gave you various equations and you had to select the correct equation that matches the graph.
There were a few problems with logarithms and only 3 fill in the blank answers. That is all I can remember right now!

I know there hasn't been a lot of threads for this test. I just took it today, and I got a 50 out of 94. You need a 46 to pass. I used IC, Wikipedia, and general web searches. I found that the test asked a lot of questions about what the primary activities for the State Board of Education and the local boards and stuff like that. Also there were questions about how teachers were paid and what teachers goals in teaching were in the 70's -90's. I didn't think IC really talked about stuff like that so you will want to research that with other sources. I passed, but I was sweating it and really felt it coul've gone either way. Good luck.

For those that follow politics, I have learned from an official with the Fred Thompson "campaign" that Thompson is almost certain to announce his candidacy on June 28th, at The Wayfarer Convention Center in Bedford, NH.
