  CLEP Math conversion table
Posted by: traffic - 05-10-2007, 02:09 PM - Forum: General Education-Related Discussion - Replies (5)

How many questions am I supposed to get right for a passing score?

Bain4weeks says that "look for 40% to 45% raw score for a standardized score of 50 (out of 80) in the subject and general CLEP exams". Is it so for College Math?

  Clep Testing Locations
Posted by: PCCLEP - 05-10-2007, 12:24 PM - Forum: General Education-Related Discussion - Replies (1)

I just found out this morning the UOP location I had been taking my CLEP exams was discontinueing the exams for some period of time. They did not know at his point how long it would be for.

I had two exams already scheduled for thr next two weeks. I'm now looking for a replacement test center. The web site on the College Board site has a broken link for the testing centers.

Does anyone know if there are any sites that give the exams on Saturday? Perfect case this Saturday in/around the Washington DC area. I live in Richmond, but I'm traveling this weekend.

Thanks for any input.

Paul

  Project Management Anyone?
Posted by: journey - 05-10-2007, 08:18 AM - Forum: Off Topic - Replies (5)

I am due to graduate in December 2007 majoring in business management and instead of attending graduate school I was thinking of pursuing training in the project management arena. Does anyone have experience with this or know of good training outlets. If you are in this field, do you like it and do you have any advice.

Thanks,

Journey

Need Advise Thomas Edison vs. Excelsior
Posted by: MelissaRosenblum - 05-09-2007, 08:39 PM - Forum: General Education-Related Discussion - Replies (3)

Melissa Jane Rosenblum RN
I am currently RN with an Associaties degree. I am trying to get my BSN as quickly as possible as I am extremely unhappy in hospital nursing and would like to pursue a career in case management with requires a Bachelors in Nursing.
I am starting to talk Clep to fufill lower level course work atJacksonville University the problem is they will allow for me to take 4 courses through exams.
I would like to switch to Excelsior or Thomas Edison as they allow more credit through exam. I am desperate to get out of floor nursing. Does anyone have any opinions on which school is better.
As a NJ Resident Thomas Edison will be cheaper for me and the campus is a 30 min drive from my house so if i have problem i have the option to go there in person and complain, but that i will have to take actual courses for all of the upper level nursing courses. Where as Excelsior will let you do the whole program by examination.

While money is something I need to consider but a couple thousand is worth it if it means i can get my degree faster.

Thank you taking the time to read my long post I apreaciate your input.

Everybody That Has Passed Dantes Statistics Please Participate
Posted by: steelers - 05-09-2007, 01:32 PM - Forum: General Education-Related Discussion - Replies (16)

Ok, so I need ECE Social Psych, Information Literacy and Dantes Statistics to have a BS in Psych from Excelsior. I'm saving the Stats for last because like most of us it freaks me out.:o The funny thing is that I keep hearing how "nasty" it is, however every score that I have seen has been 60+.Rolleyes For an exam that is supposed to be so "nasty" why is nobody even coming close to failing it? Could you all please simply list your:

A) Scores
B) Matreials Used
C) Calculators Used
D) Amount of time to prepare

Reading your experiences may help relieve my anxietySmile

Advice Needed! Would You Take Dantes USSR or ECE Social Psych If You Had a Choice
Posted by: steelers - 05-09-2007, 12:15 PM - Forum: General Education-Related Discussion - Replies (7)

I have been away for a while. I did not know that IC now has Social Psych as well! All that I have left is USSR, Stats and INL for a BS in Psych. Should I take Social Psych instead of Rise and Fall of the USSR if I have the choice? I don't care that it costs $100 more. I just know that it took me 3 weeks to study for Civil War and I don't really want to do that again. Plus, I have already taken all of the other UL Psych exams using IC alone. I only had to study each one for a few days:

Abnormal A
Adulthood A
Gerontology B
Research Methods A

Any advice would be much appreciated!

US History I Clep Test question
Posted by: tsullivan0112 - 05-08-2007, 03:32 PM - Forum: General Education-Related Discussion - Replies (5)

Hello All! I am about to take History 1 test next week and had a quick question. I have heard that you should concentrate on the time periods of teh 1700s through 1877...Does that mean that I can skip studying the last section of the Instacert practice questions titled Philosophy and Politics of the Time Period?
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
