how do you take an AP exam? There are only 2 that I would want to take but I can't seem to find anything on here about them and I am wondering if its even possible to take the exams. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Peterson's Practice - Hard!? (Biz Law Feedback included)
Posted by: dseiler - 04-17-2007, 06:38 AM - Forum: General Education-Related Discussion - Replies (12)

I've been studying from the Instant Cert exams for a while now, and I've recently switched to the Peterson's. Anyone else find the difficulty of the Peterson's huge compared to the ICs? I feel like I am drowning on these tests!!

  Macro woes....
Posted by: studyhard - 04-16-2007, 05:54 PM - Forum: General Education-Related Discussion - Replies (22)

I've been studying for the macroeconomics CLEP for a few days now. All my other tests (mostly history) have forced me to review information and just remember facts, but this one is forcing me to really think out new information. My brains feel totally fried. I took economics in high school ten years ago, so some of the basics are familiar to me, but a lot of this is new. Especially all the terminology. My test is in a week....I really hope this all comes together for me in that amount of time. What do you think? Is a week enough time to get this down pretty solid?

My biggest problem is all the graphs. I'm a very visual person, so I ought to like graphs---I can't figure out why they confuse me so much. But they do. Rolleyes Does anyone else have this problem or should I meekly retire in Abject Ignorance and console my Ignorant Self with some chocolate?

  ECE Composition!!!! DOH!
Posted by: highlanderburial - 04-16-2007, 03:29 PM - Forum: General Education-Related Discussion - Replies (1)

I don't know if I am the only person to take this test of late, but what a freaking case of carpal tunnel syndrome I have from this bugger! 3 essays in less than 3 hours! I haven't actually done handwriting in years, I had assumed this was going to be the computer version. I can type around 35 words a minute, so when the proctor said that the computers were down....
I think by the end of this thing I could barely read my own handwriting! I have never wanted to quit in the middle of a test sooooooo bad in my life! I must have spent 15 minutes evaluating my life before I could soldier on and finish my second essay. By the time I got to essay number 3, I was a blithering idiot. I could barely get my wrist to move. Here's hoping that ECE gives credit for effort.

I don't have good thoughts on how well I did on this one. Has anyone here actually failed this thing??!?!?

I am so sad for the families of all of those people that were killed today. I can't imagine sending my precious children off the college and have such a senseless and horrble thing happen to them. How do you ever recover from the loss of a child?

If only they had some type of siren/PA system to alert them to go into lockdown. Since Columbine many high schools have this - even grammar and middle schools. Both of my daughters have lockdown procedures in place at their middle and high schools.

  Biology clep
Posted by: carlosamador - 04-16-2007, 12:29 PM - Forum: General Education-Related Discussion - Replies (16)

Well i am getting ready to take my test Saturday I feel ready plus I am going to spend the rest of the week living at borders like this past weekend.

My question is this once I pass (which will give me enough for my AA Cool ) everyone keeps suggesting taking the Natural Sciences clep since its about 50% bio anyways - has everyone that has taken both been able to use all those credits.

It makes complete sense to take it at that time but there are also a few other cleps and dantes I want to take before the summer semester start up at my local community college.

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Carlos

DSST statistics help for a math retard???
Posted by: CutNshootCamelRider - 04-15-2007, 04:36 PM - Forum: General Education-Related Discussion - Replies (1)

Hello, Does the DSST statistics test focus on a lot of definitions like IC does or does it focus on problems that have to be solved?

I tried to get the book Statistics for Retards, but the liberal book shop owner told me that I should refrain from using that word since it is not politically correct. I have the Idiots book though.

lost again,

  Cracking the Clep Princeton Review

Does any one use cracking the clep for the general clep exams? I'm considering buying this as a new edition is coming out in May and I have yet to tackle any clep general's. I guess it couldn't hurt to use it as a reference of reinforcement in addition to IC.
