Have credits need to pick a degree!
Posted by: fuggy - 04-12-2007, 11:36 AM - Forum: General Education-Related Discussion - Replies (9)

If you were starting out and just want a degree, not particular what it is, what would you choose that is fastest?

My sons have both passed one German language CLEP 67 and one Italian AP (4).

Any ideas are appreciated!

(Even though these two are good at languages they just roll their eyes when I tell them that college takes 4 years).

Posted by: adoncia - 04-12-2007, 09:00 AM - Forum: General Education-Related Discussion - Replies (3)

Hi everyone,
I have completed all my degree requirements and am currently on a vacation.
Anyone who has taken penn foster's online exams I need your help.
I need to know approximately how many questions will be there on the online exams and whether they are objective questions with 4-5 choices.
Also how difficult are these exams and can I take them 2 at a time.
Thanks,
Adoncia

  Social Sciences CLEP
Posted by: sweetgirl_19 - 04-12-2007, 08:21 AM - Forum: General Education-Related Discussion - Replies (3)

Hi;
I'm new to InstantCert forums...first time I've really browsed around, but already it's been really encouraging! Hey, all these people have passed these oodles of CLEPS and DANTES "no problem" (well, at least without TOO much trouble), so why can't I Smile ?

Also, I had a question about Social Sciences CLEP. Like other people, I've taken U.S. History I and II, Western Civ I and II, American Government, Sociology and Psychology CLEPS--now my only question is, need I review the flashcards for each indivdual subject, all 1000+ of them, for the Social Sciences CLEP? If I do, I'll hunker down with right good will ...but it would be nice if I could go through this a little fasterSmile .

Any advice about Social Sciences would be welcome!

  GRE Psych anyone?
Posted by: Johanna - 04-11-2007, 07:11 PM - Forum: General Education-Related Discussion - Replies (5)

Is there anyone taking the GRE psych this Saturday? I am, but I am pretty frustrated with my lack of study time (I work taxes so the timing is not ideal, to say the least). I'd love to know if there are others signed up to take it this week and if you want to compare notes (at least before, after the exam I may not be in any mood to compare notes with anyone hilarious !
You can pm me if you don't want to clutter up the board.
Thanks, Johanna

  BA Blues

Hello, (this is my 1st post so bear with me).

I recently graduated with a bachelor's degree and applied to medical school.
I received a call back telling me that I can not be accepted because I the school I went to was only nationally accredited and not regionally accredited:mad: .
Needless to say i was and still am upset that I never knew about the difference between accreditations. The medical school said they were impressed with me but can not accept me unless I have a regional BA.
Reading up on the forum I have formulated several plans but would appreciate your input.

Plan #1: Earn 120 credits

I have 40 cr from a regionally accredited college. Take 35 Fema credits, 16 NYU Language credits, 6 Eng Clep. A total of 97 +?? credits.

Plan #2: Portfolio Assesment

Have my studies at the nationally accredited college evaluated and earn my degree. Not sure how good this option is considering I need my degree by Aug.

Possible plan #3 (hybrid of plan 1 and 2):

Use the portfolio assessment to complete the 23 credits that I still need to complete. This helps me because I do not have many upper level credits and my credits would be evaluated as upper level.

I have been amazed with what some of you have come up with and would appreciate any help
One more point I still need to earn 1 more credit in either computers or math
and would like to know the simplest way to earn the credit
