I've decided on a bachelor of science in psychology from Excelsior College
These are the exams I will need to pass before degree is fulfilled:
Excelsior College Exams:
English Compisition
Cleps:
Introductory Business Law
Analyzing and Interpreting Literature
Principles of Management-Passed
History of the United States I
History of the United States II
Western Civilization I
Introductory Psychology
Introduction to Sociology
Humanities
College Mathematics
Natural Sciences
Social Sciences
Spanish Language
DSST's:
Drug and Alcohol Abuse
Here's to Your Health
Criminal Justice
Contemporary Western Europe
Fundamentals of Counseling
Principles of Supervision
Intro to Law Enforcement
Basic Marketing
Human/Cultural Geography
GRE Psychology Subject Exam-30 credits
I'm hoping scoring an 80 or above on the GRE Psych Subject Exam will fulfill the major as well as grant the U/L credits needed to graduate.
My goal for completion on all exams is Nov. 2007.

I just completed my AAS in nursing with excelsior college. I am wanting to continue with my BSN. They won't guide me until I have my RN license. I was wondering if any of you knew what Cleps I could be doing towards my BSN while waiting. I took Analysis and Interpertation of Literature Clep last week and passed. That was my first Clep. I liked the format and less questions. Help if you can! Thanks, Amy

I studied and studied for the DSST Here's to Your Health for weeks and yet I failed it during examination time. Even the proctors said that test was easy and no one had ever fail it over at their center. Well anyways, I sat down.. answered all the questions and found out that I failed miserably. Wasn't even close to 48.
Well anyways I was scheduled to take 2 DSSTs yesterday and man was I discouraged after taking the first one. I was saying to myself, "How the hell am I going to pass the 2nd DSST" which was Intro to Computing which I have not studied at all for. Well I swiftly answered all the questions in 45 mins and did not even wanted to review the answers as I was already mad at myself for bombing the first one... I hit NEXT to see my grade and I got a 58. lol
So a FAIL and a PASS on the same day

Are GRE Subject exams slowly being phased out? |

The reason why I ask is the test date for this year was setup for april 14th. Well I only found out about this about week before the registration deadline and decided that wouldn't be enough time to study and pass with a high score 80 or above. As I want to gain a major in psychology or criminal justice. I'm just curious why they have stated testing is closed for this year, when it seems like they are only going to be giving the test out once or twice a year. For $130 it is the cheapest test to take to gain max credits if you study well for it and pass with a good grade. If you received the full 30 credits that comes out to what $5 a credit with 18 of them being U/L.

A few Fema Credit Related Questions |

Let's say I want to transcribe the credits via community college for $65 a credit. How will excelsior apply these credits? Does that mean I wouldn't have to take and pass the general cleps by completing 20-25 fema credits? I've read the various posts about credit banking at tesc, but even at $65 a credit that is still cheaper than the community colleges around where I live. My other question is how do I find out an exact degree outline? Like for an example I want the bachelor of science in criminal justice from excelsior. How do I find out what Clep/DSST/ECE/FEMA will take the place of traditional classes? Is there degree outlines listed on excelsior for specific degree majors?
Best Regards

So I took 2 clep exams today and passed 1. I just realized why I failed the first exam. I was scheduled to take intro psych and they put in intro to educational psych which I had no clue about over 60% of the material. So I completely bombed it. But I did pass principles of management. I was giving myself the hardest time but now I know that all that knowledge isn't for naught, that the testing center made a mistake. I was wondering why when I took the first exam: educational psych why most of the stuff I studied for over 12 hours on IC wasn't on the exam.
