Took my last CLEP last night - Human Growth and Development and passed with a 65! I used IC, the CLEP official study guide, as well as the passyourclass.com study guide. I studied all of these for a week.
Be sure to study Piaget, Erickson, language development, parenting types, habituation, semantics, superego, etc....
Now I just have to wait for my scores to get to U of P so I can apply for my degree. How long does this usually take?
Thanks IC!
Shawn

Just finished my last exam Intro to Psychology and passed with a 64 which means I am a University of Maryland college graduate. Thanks to everyone at InstantCert and to everyone who took the time to put up valuable information in the discussion forum. By taking the clep exams I saved a whole lot of money, and a whole lot time. So to everyone Domo Arigoto, and now on to my Masters Degree. hilarious

Has anyone taken the ECE Microbiology? It appears as though it has a 61% success rate, that seems pretty high.
I've gotten two microbiology text books that I'm reading through and I work in a TMC so I've been OJT in the lab to get experience with gram stains and just a better understanding of what I'm reading.
Does anyone have any experience with the test, level of difficulty, things you wish you studied more, that kind of stuff?
Thanks,
Justin

I studied for this exam for a week using IC and taking DSST Practice Exam. This is enough to pass!!! Know the four stages: excitement, resolution..etc, what nutrient has the most grams of fat...got confused on that! lol, know... maslow's hierarchy of needs, the most leading cause of death of 35-64 year olds, for both male and female...aspirins side effects, sarcoma, and all that types of cancer, what cancer is, which type of oil to stay away from if you are trying to lower cholesterol..was not sure on that...I put sunflower oil???...um... stages of dying, and I felt confident..thanks to the forum and IC!!!!

I just got back from the DSST Criminal Justice exam and I got a 59! 49 was passing. Let me tell you, I thought the exam was really difficult. I don't think I would of passed it if I just studied IC alone. You definitely need another source to study from, at least thats what I think. I think there were about 10 questions I answered that were related to the IC material. The rest was from Cliff Notes on Criminal Justice. Definitely get this!
Make sure you know alot about the juvenile system, court systems, jurisdictions, crime rates past 20 years, women in the police force, community rehabilitation, juvenile delinquency. These are some of the questions:
How have crime rates been in the past 20 years?
What is true about women in the workforce in the past decade?
Answer: I choose their rate has dropped dramatically. -- something along the lines of this.
There are alot of questions that regard, what is true of the following topic, EXCEPT?
What is the US Justice System based on?
a)Code of Hammurabis
b)Justinian
c) Something irrelevant
d)English Law --> this is what I choose, might be wrong, but I am pretty sure its correct
Definitely make sure what Part I crimes are?
Make sure you know what UCR does/doesn't include in reports.
Make sure you know the court systems, limited, general, appelate, trial.
This is all I can remember right now. Thank you everyone for all the help you have given me.

Hey, my brother just forwarded me a link for Massachussetts Institute of Technology. They have "open sourced" all of their courses. ANYBODY can take access all of thier course material for free. Looks like it could be a very beneficial resource for people on this forum! If I wasn't so dang close to graduation, I would be really excited about this supplement to Instantcert.

Hey all,
I need six hours in my Liberal Studies area, for a BA in Liberal Studies from TESC. I thought about College Math, and started a little studying on that one, but it has been some time since I've done any algebra stuff, and the thought of releanring all that has me reconsidering. Will the Humanities CLEP satisfy 6 SH in the Liberal Studies area? - I have not used either of the 2 lower level courses that I'm allowed in that area.
Humanities is listed as one of the categories the hours have to come from for the LS area, so I'm assuming this exam would work. I've asked my advisor and just haven't heard back yet, and wanted to start studying.
Thanks for any advice you've got folks,
David

Hello again. I finially talked to my councelor at Excelsior but that proved to be a monumental waste of time; for whatever reason she was unable to calculate my GPA.
As it stands now I have a 3.31 GPA with 2 A's not figured in yet. I need to know if getting an A on my last remaining test will get me 3.50 or not. I looked online and found a plethora of GPA calculators, but they required I put each class in, problem with this is each college gives credit differently.
Does anyone know the following:
1) What will my 3.31 GPA be with the 2 A's figured in?
2) Using the GPA from question 1, will geting an A on the last test put me at, or above, a 3.50?
Thanks, Lee
