excelsior LIBERAL ARTS vs GEN. BUSINESS degree
Posted by: BELLA - 06-07-2006, 12:37 PM - Forum: General Education-Related Discussion - Replies (2)

my transcripts were evaluated a while back and the business degree shows I need 80hours. one of my schools was only nationally accredited and they are waiting for the regional accreditation. with that school I had an associate of business so that was the reason i applied for business. those credits are now floating until the school gets accredited.

i spoke with the counselor who recommended a liberal arts degree which i would only require 57 hours.

can anyone give me an idea of their experience with the liberal arts degree - the process (degree/course/test plan). i had already charted out all my exams for the business degree now i am reassessing everything.

thanks for the help.

Feeling tired, aching alot, can't sleep...
Posted by: RBOWMAN - 06-07-2006, 10:00 AM - Forum: Off Topic - Replies (3)

Well that's how I have been feeling. I couldn't get focused. I was feeling depressed and just couldn't get back into the study mode. So I decided to see our doctor and find out what might be the cause of all of this and the answer is..Iam now an insulin dependent diabetic. Moral of the story..if you feel this same way..get it checked out. Don't wait!!

It's better to know and carry on then be overwhelmed and depressed.!!

Help please with figuring markup - for Marketing CLEP exam
Posted by: michelle19 - 06-06-2006, 10:57 AM - Forum: General Education-Related Discussion - Replies (12)

Hello,

I have started studying for the Marketing CLEP which I will take in July. I think I'm making more out of the markup questions as it should be fairly simple to figure out. I see there are different ways of calculating selling price and cost. For example, if I want to calculate the cost of a new table I just purchased and know the retail selling price was $1,000, and the markup percentage on the selling price is 60% - how would I determine the cost?

Is there an easy formula(s) on how to calculate these and are there many of these questions on the actual CLEP (if you've had exposure to it)?

Thank you in advance.

Psych of Adulthood & Aging - Anyone?
Posted by: libartsmgr - 06-05-2006, 07:32 PM - Forum: General Education-Related Discussion - Replies (6)

Bueller?

I have a feeling that I'm probably one of about two people who are actually planning (or took) ECE Psychology of Adulthood and Aging...

I'm so over studying aging (just came off a Geronotology exam). But if I can pass this one (on Thursday) then I'll be 3 measly little credits from graduating... so if you're the other person who has taken it and have any feedback - I'd love to hear!

(I'm using the recommended text by Cavanaugh as well as the Spark notes suggested by others.)

Thanks!

  Civil War
Posted by: Bama - 06-05-2006, 06:43 PM - Forum: General Education-Related Discussion - Replies (15)

I took the Civil War and Reconstruction test today. 112 questions. I feel pretty confident that I passed; if so, I am a graduated man. I'm having the test delivered UPS overnight and requested a hand-scoring. I should know by tomorrow afternoon if I passed. I feel really confident I passed and can't imagine how devistated I'll feel if I failed.

I used InstantCert, Ken Burns videos, Sparknotes, Wikipedia and referenced 3 history books that I still have from prior classes.

I need to put the science category to rest. Iam anxious for help in getting this test passed. Thanks in advance for any insight anyone who has taken the dantes geology test can offer.Rolleyes

I know there are a lot of good college out there. I am just curious of how do you choose a college to get a degree in a short amount of time?Smile What I mean is what do you actually consider before you enroll in a college?
