I passes History of the USSR
Posted by: soldierboy - 05-31-2006, 11:03 AM - Forum: General Education-Related Discussion - Replies (6)

Whew!
That was a close one...WARNING: It is a tough test! I scored a 51...My Army AARTS transcript does not tell me what the recommended passing score is, but it does say "Recommended credit: 3 Upper Level BACCALAUREATE", so I am assuming I passed...

Anyway, does anyone know what the passing score is for R&F of the USSR?

I take "History of Nazi Germany" today. All I have to do is PASS, then pay Excelsior $1100.00 and I will receive have my BA! Woo-Hoo!

  A little stressed
Posted by: libartsmgr - 05-31-2006, 10:15 AM - Forum: General Education-Related Discussion - Replies (11)

So, here's the latest on my own situation...I just have to share...

I'm at EC and I'm in the liberal arts program. However, I have a lot of past experience in the technology arena. In fact, back in 2003, I took an ICCP exam that, at the time, was worth 18 credits. Then, after I took it, ICCPs weren't accepted any longer - that hurt. So it took me a while to get back in to it and when I did, I went liberal arts simply because it's so diverse and that makes it easier to complete the degree using just exams.
Turns out that back in OCTOBER, EC started accepting ICCP credits again, but only posted this fact on their Technology school page. I just happened to be looking at it last night and saw this little fact.
Here's what makes the situation a wee-bit frustrating. I busted my hump getting tons of applied professsional credits completed so that I could then finish my LAST 9 hours of Arts and Sciences, all by a deadline that would keep me from having to pay an additional fee to graduate. HOWEVER, if I had know that ICCP's were being accepted again, I maybe could have avoided having to take those other exams (exasperating!).
I'm now asking them to reveiw it for me, just to see if maybe it helps in any way, shape or form but I doubt it.

So the moral of the story is: count EVERYTHING and re-check things that are not accepted often, becuase you don't want to get stealth'ed and have to take extra exams!!!!

Flunked And Not By Just Alittle
Posted by: RBOWMAN - 05-30-2006, 07:01 PM - Forum: General Education-Related Discussion - Replies (19)

Let it be known by all I hate science and it hates me!!!!!!! I will not remain defeated though as I have to be done by June 30th inorder to graduate from TESC in September. I must..I must and there is no if ands or buts about it. Ihave to figure out how to get 3 science credits faster than Haley's comet. I need to get back on track with a vengence. So I need to find a course that TESC will accept and I can pass. Suggestions? I have come to rely on Instantcert to be by security blanket and without it natural science got the better of me. I need a study guide that will prepare for my test and I can confidently feel I will pass. The counselor at TESC suggested DDST'S physical science or geology.Any other ideas or should I go for one of them? I need to get this done by the middle of next week..passed and all.   Hitting The Do Not Report Score Key??
Posted by: RBOWMAN - 05-29-2006, 09:30 PM - Forum: General Education-Related Discussion - Replies (25)

If Iam Looking Back At My Just Completed Clep Test And Am About To Hit The Report Or Do Not Report Score Button, The Overall Implications Of Hitting The Do Not Report Score Means :

A. I Just Spent $70.00 And Said Goodbye To It
B. My Score Will Not Be Reorted To My College
C. I Can Retake This Test Without Waiting 6 Months
D. All Of The Above Are True

So What Is The Correct Answer. I Have Never Hit That Button After Completing A Clep Test And I Really Do Not Know Its' True Pluses Or Minuses And I May Not Even Know How To Spell The Plural Form Of Plus Or Minus!! Insight On The Do Not Report Button ??

Thanks..ron

I thought maybe it would be good to start a thread on what subject area is our strength and if someone else wants help on testing questions or our exam experience.Hopefully, we could be a resource for that person to turn to and get help. I would feel very comfortable in offering advice and insight on :

The two U.S. History courses and American Govt. and
The Clep business courses

Just holler if you need help.

Memorial Day Thought And Thank You
Posted by: RBOWMAN - 05-29-2006, 04:24 AM - Forum: General Education-Related Discussion - No Replies

Iam taking a less than fun test tomorrw..science. I cannot help but reflect on the fact that the opportunity to take this and all the other tests we have all taken has been brought to us by the sacrifice of so many others. Without their sacrifice, their ultimate sacrifice I would not be taking this or any other test. Our lives would be altered to an extent that none of us can possibly imagine. So, let me say to all of the men and women who are serving our country now or in the past.. I am ,as is my family, forever in your debt!! Thank you for all the opportunities you have given to all of us... no one can ever pay a higher price or show a greater love to all who follow.

God Bless You All

Ron
