  Peterson,s test prep
Posted by: mrezas - 05-25-2006, 01:59 AM - Forum: General Education-Related Discussion - Replies (6)

Hi guys I am going to take Social Sience and History this comming Tuseday. Unfortunately I have taken all related subjects covered in this exam 12 years ago at local college and my info regarding those topics had faded awy long ego. Don't have time to go through IC's prep for each individual test and try to get a compct test prep for this one. I ask any one who have purchased on line test prep from Peterson's on Social Sience and History? if anyone have purchased it which is $19.99 on their site, please tell me if it worth it a try and how close it is to real test. I have seen people who have tried other peterson's Exam prep said that it is harder than real one. My question is, is it passable by just going trough Peterson's or need mor sources of study in such a short period of time.

Any feedbak would be greatly appreciated

How to Get DSST Speedy Results!
Posted by: chet36 - 05-24-2006, 09:50 PM - Forum: General Education-Related Discussion - Replies (17)

Ok I called the 1800 number off http://www.getcollegecredit.com last week and spoke to a man named Edmond. I asked him a ton of questions. I asked a lot of questions at my testing center. This is what I found out about grading proceedures.
1. Your testing center sends your test 2nd day air to Florida.
2. DSST grading center is in Pensecola, FL.
3. All grading is started Tuesday morning by a woman named Sally or Lucy (can't remember).
4. If they are backed up grading will continue on to Wed.
5. You can pay $20.00 for a hand graded score and they will call your schools academic advisor with your grade.
6. You can pay $25.00 for next day Fed Ex and they will send your grade to your school.

I made 63 on my Drugs and Alcohol test by studying Instant Certa and recomended book from my school library and the drug classification chart.

  ECE Foundations of Gerontology
Posted by: libartsmgr - 05-24-2006, 08:38 PM - Forum: General Education-Related Discussion - Replies (13)

For those of you either planning ECE's or looking for UL credits... Gerontology seems to be one of the more popular ECE's. I'm currently studying it and I found a video series on the subject that's available to view for free. It's also a resouce listed on EC's recommended list. I thought I'd share the link with you, it may be helpful to some.

Oh, and if you've taken this exam or Psychology of Adulthood and Aging, I'd really appreciate any feedback about what to focus on.

Thanks!

  Bummer!

Sad I failed my first test. I just got my DSST scores back. I passed Principals of Supervision and FAILED Money and Banking by 2 points. I had one test in reserve in case I failed one. I can replace the Money and Banking with Intro to Business. If I fail even one more test I will have to take another class as I have taken every business exam offered by ECE, CLEP and DSST. This will delay my degree by 3 months. The worst part is...I am not really confident in the Info Management System DSST I took last week! Send me good vibes you guys! This sucks but it was really my fault....Live and Learn....right? Cool

Posted by: RBOWMAN - 05-24-2006, 01:40 PM - Forum: General Education-Related Discussion - Replies (7)

Iam taking this test next Tuesday. Ihave taken the practice tests available thru Barron's and have scored in the 45 range. I need to pass this "less the fun " course as it is one of two I have left to graduate. Iam having the worst time getting comfortable and in the groove studying. I need the answer, if there exists one , as to how to get this show together and pass this class. Tricks, ideas, suggestions ..all are welcomed.

Thanks, Ron

  Easiest Dantes Tests
Posted by: sirjake - 05-24-2006, 12:34 PM - Forum: General Education-Related Discussion - Replies (2)

Question. Of the Dantes tests for which InstantCert provides study material, which are the easiest? I know some of the hardest are the upper level exams, but which ones are the easiest if you only want to use IC?

Reason being that I'm looking to take several more of these (3-8) and it matters not which ones. I just need to A) do well enough to get an A, and B), hopefully not have to spend a ton of time studying. Easy enough? ;-)

Thanks!

Edit: Oh yes, I've already taken:
Intro to World Religions
Ethics in America
Intro to the Modern Middle East
Drug and Alcohol Abuse

Oops! I Flunked A Fema Test!!!
Posted by: RBOWMAN - 05-24-2006, 07:14 AM - Forum: General Education-Related Discussion - Replies (4)

I guess even these tests you need to read the corresponding study materials. well, I PASSED 3 , FLUNKED 1 , I don't have to wait 6 months to retest. Isn't it comforting to know FEMA is there when you need them.

Regards to ya'all from the sunny skies of Texas and remember...PASS'EM ALL Y'ALL!Rolleyes
