10-Year-Old Whiz Kid to Make History as Crafton Hills College’s Youngest Graduate |

Coming out of retirement to share some local news. No relation to this family, but this Community College is literally done the street from me (yes, internet sleuths, I am doxing myself!)
https://iecn.com/10-year-old-whiz-kid-to...-graduate/
Quote:A 10-year-old girl from San Bernardino, Calif., is set to make Crafton Hills College history this May when she becomes the youngest Roadrunner ever to graduate from the Yucaipa-based community college.
Alisa Perales, who will have just turned 11 at the time of the ceremony, will cross the stage with not one but two associate degrees—one in multiple sciences and another in mathematics—joining hundreds of Roadrunners who will become Crafton alumni. Her final GPA will be “close” to a 4.0.
Remarkably, Alisa could have earned two additional degrees in computer science and physics had she stayed one more semester.
“When I first started at Crafton (at the age of 8), I was a little bit nervous…because this was my first time going to a public school,” said Alisa, “but then I met some really nice people, and that was super helpful.”
Alisa’s love for learning began early. By her first birthday, she had already moved beyond basic ABCs and 123s. Guided by her father, Rafael Perales, she has been focused on expanding her knowledge ever since.
With her father leading the way, Alisa never stopped absorbing information, constantly working to improve her skills.
“I credit my dad for pushing me to do well in school and try my best to work hard,” she said.
“She has been a little different her whole life, but I have always taught her that there’s nothing out there that you’re not capable of understanding,” Rafael added.
Alisa began attending Crafton in spring of 2023. Before becoming a Roadrunner, she considered applying to California State University, San Bernardino, but a counselor encouraged her to explore community college first due to her homeschooling background.
Crafton offered the support she needed to thrive, and she quickly found her place.
Alisa’s father became an honorary Roadrunner, accompanying her early semesters and patiently waiting outside her classes. Eventually, she began attending classes independently and flourishing on her own.
“Before she started at Crafton, I explained that she was going to be around many older kids, and she didn’t seem intimidated by that. She seemed to fit right in,” said Rafael. “So, I just followed my daughter’s lead. I did not make her adhere to a rigorous schedule I had set out for her. I responded to what she was interested in and helped feed that interest and fueled that fire, and her interest in school remained strong.”
At age 8, Alisa took a political science course and used what she learned to file a lawsuit in federal court against both the state and federal governments. Her case challenged the constitutionality of the 26th Amendment and Article II, Section 2 of the California Constitution, arguing that if she had achieved the same education as 18-year-olds, she should also be allowed to vote.
Although the case was unsuccessful, and she was unable to afford an appeal to the 9th Circuit, Alisa hopes another young prodigy will one day pick up the cause.
Alisa has big plans after college. She hopes to work in the artificial intelligence tech industry, either by joining an established company or building a startup with her dad.
No matter what Alisa’s future holds, it promises to be bright.
“Crafton wants everyone to succeed, but you have to work hard to get what you want,” Alisa said. “Do not ever have any doubts over what you want to do in life. Just go out there and give it a shot.”

MA IO Psychology vs MBA |

Just as the title says. Which one do you all think would have the highest ROI. I understand it’s all subjective to a persons career goals/ interests. But with all else being equal Which one would have the greatest potential for a career lift or change in the business / corporate world. Which would have the best hedge against ageism? The MBA would not be from a top 25 program, more like an LSUS for example. The same for the Psyc degree. Both would be online programs. Any input would be appreciated. Thanks

Your Location: Phoenix, AZ
Your Age: 47
What kind of degree do you want?: BSBA, Accounting
Current Regional Accredited Credits: 15 - 9 more coming via 3 TECEPs, leaving capstone and cornerstone to complete the last 6, to equal 30 (all 15 so far are via TECEPs)
Current ACE, CLEP, or NCCRS Credits: 90
Any certifications or military experience?: No
Budget: $12,000 - $13,000
Commitments: full-time job, no pets - job is demanding at times - I can study mornings, evenings, weekends, and sometimes during work when it's slow
Dedicated time to study: 15 hours per week - can make more time if I condense things and see light at the end of the tunnel
Timeline: April to August 2025
Tuition assistance/reimbursement: Yes, my workplace has allowed me to expense my classes, so far
Hi everyone,
Thanks for all of the information and help. Here's what I'm trying to achieve, and why:
I should have my last 3 TECEPs completed by the of of May. I'm thinking about doing the Capstone and Cornerstone together, to get it done. I've read that allocating 80/20, respectively, is a good approach.
Here's why I'm considering doing them together:
At the moment by company has reimbursed me for my expenses. I'm worried about this going away, if the economy gets weirder or falters. September and forward are also extremely demanding at work. While June - Aug may be busy at times, I would have more time to study.
Given the information I provided in the template, and the additional info given, is there anything wrong with doing the cornerstone and capstones together?
When should I apply for graduation, if so?
Finally, from what I can tell the capstone for the BSBA is the same, regardless of the AOS (accounting, in my case). Just want to make sure I understand that correctly. I've seen it recommended to order the textbook(s) in advance. Does TESU in the course description mention the textbooks to use?

Hello forum members,
I was accepted into the Doctor of Healthcare Administration at OK State. I transferred in enough credits that the program will require me to complete only 45 credits. It is relatively affordable when you compare it to other DBAs and DHAs online.
The program seems great and relevant to me. I have acquired much knowledge on the program from different sources. However, I wanted to ask all of you very knowledgeable people if anyone had any direct or indirect experience with the program. Any information or opinions you guys could provide would be much appreciated.
Thanks and all the best,
swlearner71

So I am finally taking the Capstone for BSBA GM.
However, I noticed I only need 3 more classes and the capstone for a BALS Computer Science.
Is it worth it? Should i go for it?
Also, my evaluations show I completed the following:
Operation Mgt Cert
Computer Science AS
General Studies AA
Also need Associate Capstone for:
Applied Computer studies AAS
Administrative Studies AAS
What are your suggestions? What is allowed?
