CLEP Financial Accounting |

Has anyone taken this test yet?
I was scheduled to take the CLEP Principles of Accounting before it was retired and was in an accident and missed the deadline (double drats). So here I am ready to take Clep Financial Accounting so I can take a B&M class for Managerial Accounting. I have to have taken this test before 8/15 to be able to enroll in Managerial Accounting, so I have been on pins and needles waiting to see some feedback on this test. Any input would be helpful. This was going to be my first CLEP because I have experience with accounting, but I am nervous as a cat because if I don't pass, then I get to take a class for this too.
If no one has attempted, I guess I will be the guinee pig hilarious . I will provide feedback and hopeful a passing score  .

Hello everyone,
I imagine since it is a requirement that someone has taken Information literacy. I plan on taken this pretty soon to get it out of the way, so if anyone can offer some feedback on what this course is like I would appreciate it.
I have not spoken to an EC advisor yet regarding the Info lit course, but I will next week, and besides it would be nice getting feedback from people that have actually taken the course.
Questions; Is this a pass/fail or is it graded?
Does it require a full 16 weeks to complete?
Is it pretty easy or something intense?
Thanks again,
Mike

I am not, I repeat, Not a comfortable test taker. I am a Business major and cannot for the life of me figure out why an LD test for a medical student would even be offered for my major. Out of the 229 IC flash cards, I only scored well in two categories. I have to take the test tomorrow morning at 9:00 AM and I am quite frustrated.
I could find no current threads for this test. I hope when I get ready for the Human Resouce Management I can get more.

Yesterday I did both Org. Behavior (64) and Intro. to World religions (71).
Here are some quick thoughts.
World Religion:
Know the key words from Confucian thought (ren, li, etc.), as well as the basic timeline of the individual scholars and the things they added to the philosophy.
Basic Hindu Gods
Aboriginal religions; dreamworld
Christian timeline, as well as be able to name list denominations by size.
Know about Buddha's life history (basics only) understand Therevada, Mahayana, and Zen
Org, Behavior:
No real advice just study this well and understand the different theories of organizations.

No Credit Granted for a "High" D from EC! |

The exam is Organizational Behavior. I used IC only, and knew the material backwards and forward before test day. I was ready. Or so I thought. So, imagine my surprise after learning my grade was a D. I was shocked because I answered most of the questions without guessing, and I thought the exam was rather easy at the time. Boy, was I wrong! Another unpleasant surprise was when I learned that Excelsior does not grant credit for a D. But why, I thought a pass was a pass? Well, after I received my grade, I requested my exam be re-graded. Here's the response from EC:
Please note the following about your exam results:
A. You correctly answered 57% of the questions on the exam - both in the scorable set and the overall question set. The overall set includes questions that are not included toward your final grade, but are included for developmental purposes to test their effectiveness in measuring knowledge. If they are judged to be effective by our Test Developers, they will be made scorable questions in future versions of this exam. The scorable question set is the basis for your grade, and does not change from test to test. All students who take the exam form you took are evaluated using the same set of scorable questions.
B. You were relatively close to passing the exam - your grade of D was a "high" D, so some further focused preparation using our exam content guide for this test should help you succeed next time.
I'll have to re-test, or just let this one go altogether. It stings a little, but what else can I do? Any advice?
On a much happier note, I just received my grades today for Psy. of Adulthood & Aging, and Foundations of Gerontology ---I received a B on both, woohoo! Again, using just IC for both. Next up, Abnormal Psy.
Thanks,
Anne
